Finishing is supposed to be one of his strengths, but it doesn't look like that's the case. Alvarez is 10x the finisher.
I'm pretty sure he has been tried on the right, and I think he wasn't bad.All those years I spent laughing at Rashford, and we go out and sign the Egyptian Rashford.
~ Can't play the lone striker role.
~ Can't play on the right (not tried yet)
~ Can't play effectively as a left winger.
~ Can't dribble (although Rashford can, with no end product)
~ No variety in his shooting at all, no side foot shot, no delicate shot, no curler, no lob, no chip, no aerial ability.
~ Puts his head down and smashes
every shot with the right foot. (usually across to the GK right side)
~ Questionable set piece ability
We seem to be buying players lately without much of a plan. I expected Marmoush to be the Alvarez replacement but he doesn’t seem to like or very capable of leading the line upfront on his own. Would be better playing off Haaland but that disrupts the balance of the side so he’s usually out on the left. We’ve brought a keeper in who looks average at best with his feet and are still trying to play as if Ederson is in net. We had no legs in midfield and brought in Nico who’d be a close race against 34 year old Gundo. We’ve also brought in plenty of players for countless millions who aren’t getting in the team yet whilst still having no proper right back at the club. Absolutely bizarre recruitment and it’s reflected in performances.I don’t think he’s a winger, but then he’s never going to start over Haaland.
Almost feels like we’re trying to force players into the starting line up, and there’s so much change it’s unsettling the team
I was thinking i’ve never really seen someone get a first touch if it’s not already good by 26/27. Bizarre really how poor his touch isSecond touch is a tackle
Another reason to hate Txiki
Went for Marmoush when Kvara was available
I'm all for positivity but we'll be nowhere near challenging on the basis of Saturdays spineless performance. We had worse games against spurs in the treble winning season.
It’s August, we’ve got players on their way back from injury (Haaland/Foden), a new keeper which will take the back 4 ten games to settle with, and new players still adapting.
Despite all that we had the vast majority of chances in the first half and if we’d put them away we’d have been a few goals up and not chasing the game leading to mistakes.
Arsenal looked shit last weekend against a poor United. They’ll still be title challengers and so will we.
