7 | Omar Marmoush - 2025/26

It’s worrying for him but he will go to African nations then when he comes back he probably see where he is in this squad, is he happy to hold bench till he is needed? Maybe he will go in the summer and he would be a quality striker for a Newcastle Everton think he’d score 20+ goals for them! Money wise I’d want what we paid for him!

We're not selling our best presser who has a knack for goals. Well not yet anyways.

We'll make it work somehow.. It's not Cherki and Foden will play every game. They will need rest.

hoping to see a bit more from this lad in the coming months. He worked hard when he came on against Liverpool but something is still missing a bit.
Think we should all club together for a gofundme and get him some proper studs for his boots, he just can't stand up in the ones he has, spends half his time on the pitch getting up off the floor

Yeah maybe another year but he is at an age he will want a bit more game time! Doku might get an injury and he will play a lot

I think it becomes a question of asset allocation.

He's supposedly on almost 300K a week, and can't seemingly get starts even when we have had a real competition early in the season.

If Pep and the clubs view is that they believe Doku is starting to bloom and develop and could eventually become a world-class winger for us, we need to continue to give him that chance.

Marmoush has not been good enough for us on the left, and the reality is that he isn't going to start consistently unless Erling goes down. Even then, I could see Pep change back to a false 9 and let Foden or Cherki play there.

So the question becomes, would we rather us go back the Gabriel Jesus and Julian Alvarez route and go get a young striker from South America for 30% of what we are paying Marmoush, develop him and sell him in 4-5 years, clear up Marmoush's wages to put towards next summer to continue the rebuild?

After the break we've got a game every 3 or 4 days until Christmas and he goes to AFCON, he'll get some chances. Up to him to take them.

Don’t see how he gets a game unless we play without Haaland.

He’s no good out wide and he isn’t good enough on the ball to play in the 10.
If we’ve changed to being Rondo FC, he’s not suited to that at all.

Think hell get 20 mins off the bench whenever we’re 3 goals up and a few cup games unless Haaland gets injured.

He is the backup to Haaland and Doku.

He will still play plenty.

Don't forget last season withour Haaland, Marmoush fit in this wide fullback system in a 4222 and looked really good.

He hasn't really been played much in that this season, in particular id like to see him and RAN develop some time together and chemistry like Doku and O Reilly have.

Our left side has strong options, all facilitated by Phil as well.

A problem. On massive wages and doesn't have a spot in the team. Touch not good enough to play wide or in the 10 and he's never dislodging Erling. Doubt Marmoush will be happy with sub apps and the odd cup game.

He’s great to have, he’s a genuine goal threat and we need players like him that are willing to shoot often. The problem, however, is I don’t think we will be able to keep him happy here for much longer. It’s the same process as what happened with Jesus and Alvarez - they can’t displace Haaland, nobody can. And then playing them elsewhere in the team always has a feeling of them being shoehorned in a little. That can only last so long before other clubs spot an opportunity to take him.

He'll start many games. We play every 3-4 days after the international break for 4 months or so. Erling and Doku can't start every game. Marmoush will feature a lot, especially if he performs well.

He'll be off to ACON where Egypt are expected to go deep in January, can't see Pep playing him into form just to lose him in January for a month. The injury came at a horrible time for him.

I see what Marmoush brings, pace, pressing and a goal threat, I'm not saying he's a bad player, I just think he's a bad fit. Alvarez and Jesus were more suited to us imo.

He's just back from injury he will start plenty of games especially in this new formation with 1 just off haaland floating. You could argue there is a starting spot up for grabs when fit I see it as rodri gonzalez foden doku haaland ?

He isn't a bad fit. His 7 league goals helped us finish 3rd. But we have other good players: that's the problem for him, not that he's a bad fit.

That Pep started him over Doku in games before the injury showed Pep rates him.

It’s almost more on Doku than him though. Doku on form has to play. Just depends if he can stay consistent or not

Doku is going to be a feature of the side for the next 10 years. No one on the planet displaces him out of the side.

The options for Omar are right wing, #10 or #8 or backup striker.

The good thing is Omar is versatile enough to do that so he'll get games.

A poorly timed injury that allowed Doku to get a run and form. Will just have to wait his turn, which might be next month or next season. Essentially haaland back up right now

Think they were all home goals. Can see him playing in the home games against lower teams.

Think his 2 away goals are both cup goals.

His touch is a weird one in that I think he's trying too hard to get it out of his feet all the time instead of just getting it under control. I rate him and think he's an asset but he's an enigma at the moment
