There's a difference between criticising him for the miss and being absolutely awful about a player who's been massively important for us over the past few years, and who quite frankly has a better record in the CL than most of the attacking players we've ever had. I've been critical of him tonight but this is just bullshit. There is a middle ground.

Having a reputation for missing sitters in big games is not ideal. I don't care if scores only 10 goals a season if those goals win us derbies, CL knockout rounds and other big games. Nobody gives a fuck about hattrick against Brighton or a brace against Watford. Put the fucking ball in the net when it matters. It's not a big ask, it's a fuckin tap in. We're not asking him to slalom his way through 5 players and chip the keeper ffs. World class player in everything else, but finishing in big moments.
