I wasn’t suggesting he rolled it straight to the keeper to prove the argument. My point was he’s skied pens before and also hit the bar. He’s hardly got the technique to go curling them in the top corner like beckham or somebody has he? He shouldn’t be taking them and it was bloody ridiculous that he was. By trying to lift it again he just exposed his poor technique further and a safer pen at least on target would have been more obvious given the lads record.

He's way off form and lacking in confidence. The pen could have fixed that but is another bad miss which doesn't help things. Credit to him though, he doesn't stop trying and with that attitude then he'll get his form back in time. Until he does, Torres has to be starting ahead of him. Not sure who can take the penalties in our team to be honest, we miss far too often.

No I’d still evaluate him as technically miles away from what you’d expect from a top class forward player. His general play has backed this up for well over 12 months but his goal record has papered over his very patchy at best form. Credit to him for his great movement but now the goals have dried up he’s contributing little else especially from the left where he’s beyond predictable and can’t utilise his greatest asset.

Im clearly missing something as a wide shot (not on target) on a penalty never results in a goal

i know it's only semi related to sterling and he probably wanted to shoot but why doesn't gündo do pks? he is very good at them. i know he missed one for us but in his career he scored like 10 and missed only the one.
