Not from the penalty spot

Im clearly missing something as a wide shot (not on target) on a penalty never results in a goal

Yes, KDB missed the target from a penalty shot.

You are indeed missing something, because sometimes a wide shot can easily be closer to result in a goal than a shot on target.

Or else, are you suggesting that every time you see a player shooting a screamer that goes just an inch over a bar, you never say "oh that was close". You only sit on your hands and calmly note "not even close, it was off target". And then when another players makes a loose shot that a goalkeeper easily saves you are cheering "oh that was on target, damn it was almost a goal".

If you really think that a wide shot can never be close to result in a goal, then you really are missing something.

Simple question. How many wide shots from the penalty spot result in goals?

Don't you realise you are making a judgement with a benefit of hindsight? That's the same as saying "you can't win a game if you don't score any goals".

Simple maths. You have two options for a shot, option A is a screamer and option B is a tap-in. Here are the likelihoods:

A) 20% wide, 5% save, 75% goal
B) 0% wide, 30% save, 70% goal

Which option would you choose?

Sorry, you have lost the plot. You said, even for penalties, an off target attempt could result in goals.

You have never had a plot if your logic is at this level.

You are talking only about the end result, not about the attempt itself. By your logic I could say that a saved shot will never result in a goal either. For some reason though you seem to think that a saved shot is better than a wide shot.

You're arguing like a rag. Put your bone down pal.
