Guys... Let's not forget how he bossed at Anfield and showed fantastic performance against Liverpool (title defining game..)

no, it isn't. That's why his Lyon miss costs more than, for example, a tap-in at Burnley. Because it does. Same way nobody really gives a fuck if Mahrez scores a hat-trick v Burnley when he shits the bed in games like Sunday, people want our front men to deliver in the key games and big moments, that's why they're paid the bigger bucks and given our shirt.

Even then, Raz is also famous for missing a sitter at Burnley which costs us points, so he can't even get that right.

If you want to judge a player solely on the misses he's made and ignore all of the 113 goals he's scored for us then that's on you. If you want to ignore the 31 goals he scored last season for the sake of 1 miss in the final game then that's also you prerogative.

But when you're saying things like

Deliver at the level required for a club of our ambitions in the key moments or go down to a level you're comfortable at

Then you're doing yourself, the player, the club and everything it's achieved a disservice.

Again, if you want to ignore what we've won for the sake of the couple of things we didn't then that's on you but I can't imagine it's a very happy existence.

You don’t decide any of those things the club do. As a supporter of you take that kind if attitude you’re really not my cup of tea at all. Raz is the most unfairly maligned player in our squad and lazy assessments which have no baring on reality from Blues is as bad as anything that people cry about in the media thread.

the club sets the target and fans judge against them, or we have nothing to talk about and may as well close the forum because the club will always be fine. Club sets the goals and last summer in particular Raz cost us the chance to meet them. He's paid to do a job and those are the club's stated objectives.

Raz gets judged against Raz. He gets judged on the first half of 17/18 Raz who went up a level and delivered and he's now regressed, so he'll get criticised because he's proven he can do better and there's no reason for him not to consistently play at that level. He gets criticised now for Sunday's miss, for the miss at Lyon, maybe the Burnley miss, why? because they were result changing misses and people remember them. They don't remember the one at 4-0 in a game no-one can remember because it doesn't matter. When you blot your copybook people remember and they point to it when you do it again and again.

In a thread about Sterling on a football forum where you support a club where the only jeopardy is against meeting the club's goals, the above is fair. In the real world, nobody gives a shit and I'm more arsed about work and getting a vaccine, but here we are in a thread discussing Raz's performances so what do you expect?

He was poor last season and went months barely making a contribution, a key reason why we didn't win anything.

I'm not going to judge him now based on 2 years ago other than to say he's not performing to that level. We're in the present discussing this season's performances, if you want a Raz reminiscence thread for 17/18 go ahead and we can go back and eulogise about how good he used to be for us and the success we enjoyed as a result. Knock yourself out.

To coin your own phrase. Knock yourself out. Just don’t be surprised when Raz signs a new long term deal at the club in the summer.

just don't be surprised when Pep walks away without a CL then, unless someone shows the balls in front of goal Raz is lacking.

My support and enjoyment of the club isn’t predicated on winning everything and being the best at everything all the time. I also am not so arrogant as to assume I know more and better than the people currently running the club.

It helps a bit though (winning trophies) and as mentioned if Pep was to leave without the CL for us,it would be disappointing I'm sure you'd agree.

Are you for real? Disappointing?

Fuck me, I do despair with what we've become as a supporter base.

Yea disappointing for fucking real.

In my 40 years of supporting City never have we had a better chance of winning that fucker than in recent times, monkey on the back type of thing,so to see us win it is something I would like to see us do,crave it,no,want it,yes.

If that makes you despair, then it's obvious you were not around when we were in league 2 eh ?

So with the talent we have, and the best coach,I think you will find that plenty would be disappointed if he didn't win it whilst with us.

So it's upto individual ambitions I guess, and mine is different from yours as easy that is to see.

But after 40 years of supporting City, don't despair for the likes of me,you will be wasting your time
