I honestly now wouldn't bat an eyelid if we sold him.
That was said also about Gundogan, Rodri, Stones, Mahrez, Cancelo...before the start of the season.

No doubts whatsoever that he's struggled in recent times. I've always accepted his negatives because his positives have always far out weighed them.
Right now I can't confidently say that's still the case and a spell out of the team will hopefully refocus his mind and give him the kick up the arse to spur him on to getting back to the Sterling who's justified his signing on fee 5x over.
Time for him to shine again because what we've seen this year hasn't been good enough.
The difference is they have made those posters eat humble pie. Whereas Sterling hasn't even mixed the pastry. That was said also about Gundogan, Rodri, Stones, Mahrez, Cancelo...before the start of the season.

There's no difference. All those players had difficult moments and were written off, same is happening with Sterling now.
If anything, fans should be more patient with Sterling, for he has contributed more goals/assists than any other City player since Pep's arrival including Sergio.
I'm sure Pep won't agree with being patient for that long. It's been nigh on a year since we've seen the Sterling we developed. We can't afford to throw away years to wait for a player gets his arse in gear!!!There's no difference. This is all unfortunately true.Pre Covid he was in the top 10 players in world football on his day. He has fallen out of that bracket at an alarming rate. He has gone back to the Raz we bought from Liverpool - before Pep trained him in to a top top player. I honestly now wouldn't bat an eyelid if we sold him. One of the most frustrating players in the current squad to watch. He doesn't offer anything now. Next time he plays concentrate on him. I guarantee most of our attacks will break down with him. He doesn't go past players anymore, jsut dribbles in a straight line into the defender. They don't even need to work that hard to stop him. He needs a rocket up the arse and if he spits his dummy out then so be it!!!
If he is as good as he obviously thinks he is, a shit playing manure team should have posed no issues for him.I thought he was decent against Wolves and feel Pep left him out to dry against the Rags by putting him against a team and full back he always struggles against. Pep should have rested him for that game and played him v Soton. It seems so clearly the obvious thing to have done that I wonder if there is some sort of longer term genius plan at work by doing otherwise.
