Somebody was making the same point about Bernardo back in December...He was on 0 assists and 0 goals back then, the dip in form was for too long, etc. etc. Was a daft point, as was daft to write off Gundogan, Rodri, Stones, Cancelo, Mahrez, Jesus, etc. Wish people could learn from that.

Not saying Pep should start him. Pep will find a way to help him flourish again.
Berbardo's situation was different,he was constantly in and out of the side,he wasnt afforded the luxury of consistency or being played regardless,as he was the patsy for Gundogan and KDB.Many of us stated,as soon as he gets a run in the side he would shine again - Kev's injury made that happen.

With Sterling,it feels a bit more chronic/terminal to me.Hope im wrong and this current situation relights the fires, but its been too long now and im not sure we havent seen the best of him.

thought he was decent against Wolves and feel Pep left him out to dry against the Rags by putting him against a team and full back he always struggles against
He missed a goal opportunity from a few yards out and messed up a header that Ronnie Corbett would have dealt with comfortably

I thought he was decent against Wolves and feel Pep left him out to dry against the Rags by putting him against a team and full back he always struggles against. Pep should have rested him for that game and played him v Soton. It seems so clearly the obvious thing to have done that I wonder if there is some sort of longer term genius plan at work by doing otherwise.

What point are making ? That he's not good enough to play against Utd or AWB

You agree with Pep so . He's not first choice at the moment based on current form

Mahrez is first choice on the right
The left is up for grabs between Sterling / Foden and Jesus

Clearly sick of him missing easy chances like we all are. Hopefully a spell on the bench will piss him off to make him want to prove a point

This is all unfortunately true.
Also he misses sitters which costs us big style ( Lyon being the most painful example).
Dog, Rodri and Stones have all come back in from out of the cold, so it's possible Raheem could come back.
Moi?
For what it's worth if we could get a decent fee I'd let him go and bring in a player who is more of a direct attacker and better striker (conversion rate)
This as well as the new striker we must also sign in the summer (Haaland, Felix or whoever) as the Serg replacement.
Need to move quick on cashing him in, his stock is crashing every time he plays. At the moment he’d still have value and reputation to help us do a Haarland deal or that kid from Athletico

Pre Covid he was in the top 10 players in world football on his day. He has fallen out of that bracket at an alarming rate. He has gone back to the Raz we bought from Liverpool - before Pep trained him in to a top top player. I honestly now wouldn't bat an eyelid if we sold him. One of the most frustrating players in the current squad to watch. He doesn't offer anything now. Next time he plays concentrate on him. I guarantee most of our attacks will break down with him. He doesn't go past players anymore, jsut dribbles in a straight line into the defender. They don't even need to work that hard to stop him. He needs a rocket up the arse and if he spits his dummy out then so be it!!!
No need to “concentrate” on him, he runs Refs VAR and Tyler a close race in frustrating my viewing every game. Been an enjoyable experience this week to be Sterling free

I'm just saying the Rags game was the one to rest him for. He's a good player but he has his weaknesses and limitations like everyone else. Different players suit different opposition. I think most people agree we'd have been far better off playing Foden on the left for the Rags game and that wasn't just with the benefit of hindsight, it was obvious at the time. Had he played Foden we'd have got at least a point IMHO and this issue with Sterling would probably have been avoided.

File it under 'nonsense from twitter' but lets see if Raheem is there on tuesday before dismissing completely...
