With Kev on his lonesome as attacking midfielder, we have to expect more creativity from the wide forwards. Both scoring and assisting goals. Mahrez can do both but is too inconsistent. Sterling is doing neither and is one of the min reasons why our attack has dried up. He is predictable, he has scored some lovely goals by com
ming in from the left, creating space and putting a shot inside the far post. His other goals are normally scored by tap ins because he has created space for himself at the far post. Teams are defending the first method better and he isnt getting into that space any more/we aren't crossing into it. He is an expensive passenger at the moment and I'm afraid the return of Kun will not resolve that.

We need a mini overhaul, some unpopular decisions need to be made and i also feel he's top of the list.
Sterling is going nowhere unless he himself pushes for it.

Pep managed the best footballer of all time, a player with incredible technique and skill and yet he watches Sterling look like a baby giraffe trying to walk for the 1st time every week and let’s him crack on. It makes zero sense to me but Pep loves him.

I believe he’s a really nice lad. I’ve heard he does a lot of work with the younger players and gives them advice and guidance. And he is also never injured and does score a good amount of goals.

I can see why Pep will like him.

But I think, in footballing terms, he’s gone backwards, and there must be better out there.

I don’t ever want to see him play on the left for us again. That’s how bad I feel he is over there. He has to be a right forward or on the bench, and like I’ve said, long term he’s not going to be the man we really need.

The solution is for pep to drop mahrez and put sterling on the right with torres on the left. Watch sterling start running riot on the league and he'll actually take players on.

It’s clear that personality means a lot to Pep. Over his managerial career he has gotten rid/let go of some players that have had a questionable personality. I fully believe that Sane and him didn’t see eye to eye and that’s why Sane is no longer at the club. I think it’s ok to have this requirement, I mean we would all rather work with people we like. However, it can’t become a job for the boys and I think that’s where we are with Sterling and Mahrez. Both nice guys, neither will rock the boat and both will do as they told but their football has to be the required standard too and neither are even close.

The thought of Sterling helping our next generation fills me with fear. Unless the coaches wheel him out to show the youngsters how not to strike a ball.

Would putting him on the right suddenly give him back basic footballing skills and decision making?
he would look more comfortable without having to cut in and he'll be able to cross the ball which he never does on the left. It covers up his flaws a lot more and highlights his strengths. He doesn't have the technical ability to do what he wants to do on left imo unless all he wants to be is a pure goal scorer and even the goals are drying up on the left.

Pep said he picks players in form / playing well. If that’s the case Sterling wouldn’t be playing as he has been average this season
its very unfair that laporte gets dropped for one bad performance this season but sterling and mahrez can get away with countless. I guess pep will always have his favourites.
