Or is it that “the market” doesn’t share our blue-tinted spec valuations?

If we think he’s shit, why would somebody pay £70M to take him from us?!

Also, a recent article speaks of the £400M treasure trove of talent we have sold to help fund the players we have brought in. Indeed, we were the BEST at it in the articles analysis of transfers funding clubs!
Fair enough.

Spot on,no matter what people say,we have always been hopeless with outgoings, for years
Well if rumours were to be believed, the primary reason Bernardo and Laporte stayed this summer was because City weren't willing to lower the asking price. And before Sané's injury we were holding out for 100m.

I get the feeling Sterling would fetch a handy fee.

yes he has better attitude of England but even then did you see his final output yesterday laughably bad. he gets into good position because of his speed and then has a technique worse than a pub player at the final end. his lack of technique is why he will never be a pep player and why he is not good enough for manchester city. we need someone with both pace and technique to be a forward player for us.

for me its panic and over thinking it ? it should be when your in the zone when defenders panic and you stay cool.
you can never change that in sterling its to late to change him now. if only you could put the anger/fearless/rage into his game he would be world class

exactly the difference in technique and composure between him and serge gnabry a similar player is like night and day.

i watched the first 20 minutes of the england game and in that 20 minutes sterling was flying and giving it 100%
so why has his manchester city place in first team been limited ? that's right he does not want to be here.
its simply 2 different sterling's its chalk and cheese

so yes us manchester city fans can question sterling's desire to play for us with what we have seen when he is with england. pep last week sort of blanked the question about sterling by saying ask him only he knows,
i think city must sell in the winter window and bring in a striker or forward
Did you see how open and unorganised those cones England we’re playing against were. Good luck finding a Premier League team setting up like that against us.

He had a great season on the left, the difference between that season and this is the difference between England and City. He needs a centre forward to play alongside. If he stays he’ll get one. If he decides to move on good luck to him, but he has hardly been stitched. up by Pep.
One great season on the left out of how many? Remember how bad he was there under Pellers? Pep moved him to the right and he became a real top player. Now on the left he’s back to Pellers days for form. Greatest asset is undoubtedly his pace and he can’t fully utilise it on the left. To be fair like Leroy can’t on the right and he’s got far more technical ability than Raz. Bayern and Germany have moved him back to the left and he looks world class again.

In the summer with only 12 months left on his contract, only half a dozen months off being able to discuss terms with any European club and on a level of wages that very few clubs on the planet could hope to match?

IMO we’ll be lucky to get £45M for him in January and less again come summer.
And even that’s only possible if we can get him to agree to a transfer in a situation where it’s in his fiscal interest to stay for one more season and then walk away on a free so that he can reap the benefit of a massive signing in bonus wherever he goes.

It’s also in his interest to perform well for us because it enhances his market value and he’ll pocket his full market value upon completion of his contract with us. So if he is dragging his feet for us due to dissatisfaction at being here, as some posters allude, he’s doing himself a disservice as well as the club.

I see him going for not a lot in January, for a song next summer and thereafter for his own benefit only.
