Not trying to start an argument mate, but what makes you say Grealish is better than Sterling? Because so far we're seeing a man miles out of his depth- Sterling is in the worst form of his life and still managing to give us more.

If Sterling gets back to his best, which the signs suggest is happening now, he's also got to be considered better than Jesus on either side just because of goal threat from wide positions, with most of Jesus's goals this season coming from the middle.
Fair enough. Grealish has underwhelmed so far but he is getting used to our system.
Given we are playing well with the Rodri, Gundo, Bernie midfield and if all our forward players were fit I'd play
Jesus Torres Foden
Torres being out means that there is an argument for playing Mahrez or Raheem on the right and shifting Gabriel inside.
I just don't like Raheem on the left as I think he slows us down to much.

he is so bad on the left his dribbling on the inside is absolute shit. his ball control is his worst trait as a player. I think his shooting troubles come from that. he has no idea how to touch the ball on the outside of his foot to set it up for a strike or a pass. that is why he is always better on the right.

that is nonsense about Grealish. he might no get in behind the defense but he offers so much better control of that side compared to sterling. its not like sterling does anything after getting in behind anyway. Grealish being so efficient and safe allows us to never lose the ball a 100 times like with sterling and actually allows Cancelo to express himself more. Sterling on the left side is a disaster. he should play on the right if he has to.

Agreed, fair point.

However I just find him so frustrating to watch playing on the left, often when he's up against an aggressive full back (Johnson yesterday/AWB/Reece James) he just seems to loose all confidence. Much more effective on the right wing and influences the game alot more. But as others have eluded to on here he has competition for that right wing spot.
It will be interesting to see who plays when all are fit

Who actually gives a shit about 'control' when we need goals? If Grealish had been playing vs PSG or Everton, would he have gotten into the position to score the crucial goals Sterling did? Would he fuck, he'd have been standing miles away waving his arms. Gundogan, Rodri and Bernardo offer more than enough control. If you're a forward your job is to get goals and assists and Sterling on form does that better than anyone else in our squad. Grealish at his very best form is an occasional contributor at best.

Pep sure does. his game is all about control if you haven't noticed yet. If you want goals blame the board for not getting a goalscorer.

Not sure what Torres has done to deserve to be a nailed on starter.

Back to Sterling, didn’t watch yesterday. Hopefully he’s improving. Numbers never bother me with him. I’ve seen him play games he’s been dreadful and popped up with a goal and seen him play fantastic and not contribute to a goal. I’d rather he find his form and then numbers will come. Still incredible frustrating to watch most of the time. Bashing Grealish to support Sterling is poor as well.

I don't like this idea that's often mentioned that Sterling isn't good on the left. He arguably had his two best seasons on the left, and his best form for England came out there too.

Playing on the right might cover up his weaknesses better, but I'm not sure that's how we should be thinking about a player.

He plays better on the right so play him on the right
