The last two were shite and a waste of money, Toure never really came across well as a person albeit a fantastic footballer. His last couple of season were pretty average.
The sterling hate from some quarters is odd for sure but I'm not sure it's because of what you're hinting at, but could be wrong.
We're Manchester City, so by default we've had lots of shite players over the years who were a waste of money. Quite a lot of them post-takeover. But I don't remember any of them getting bollocked out the ground in the way Bony, Yaya, and Mangala did during the last 18 months of Pellegrini's time at the club. Maybe it's because our standards as a fanbase have risen to levels where we think it's alright to yell at players who are a bit bobbins compared to the rest, maybe it's because of something more sinister - regardless, I felt uncomfortable going to games in Pellegrini's last season because one loose touch from Bony in the first half would have the entire ground on his back for the rest of the match. Yaya, a club legend as early as 2011, never mind 2016, was getting torrents of abuse for being a bit over the hill and visibly physically incapable of reproducing his form of 13/14. It's the same with Raheem - yes he's been bobbins for a while now but he's going to leave the club as one of City's top 10 goalscorers of all time and a 3x Premier League winner - you wouldn't know it from the shite he gets at some games. We obviously want all of our players to do well because we want City to win football matches, but the treatment some players get when they underperform has always stood out to me and they've always had one distinct thing in common.

Like I said, it could be for the reason you're hinting at but I'd put it down to us just having a few bellends in our support who would most likely be giving white players the same amount of shit if they were awful most weeks.
Will some of them be racist? Quite possibly but I'd like to think they're in the minority.

Sure you believe what you have posted but I think you have added 2 +2 and arrived at a figure of 5 on this aspect.

I certainly know that it nothing to do with ethnicity on my part.

Our fans reserve a special kind of anger for Raheem. It's the same kind of anger they reserved for Yaya Toure, Mangala, Bony... I wonder what links all of these players.
Probably the same as for Megson, Heath, Power, Brannen, are etc etc.
Some of these posts, in addition to being plain wrong, are downright insulting and verging on libellous now.

How can what I've said be considered libellous when all I've done is recall my general experiences of watching games at the Etihad during the 15-16 season? I've not accused any specific person (or group of people) of any wrongdoing, I've just raised to the discussion the possibility that the criticism certain City players have received from our fans is elevated by of sinister motivations. I'm not saying that's what's happening, I'm just not ruling it out. That's not libel.

Yaya was a brilliant player but some of his mutterings after leaving City left a lot to be desired. Bony and Mangala weren’t of the required standard I think we can all agree, it has nothing to do with their skin colour otherwise Vinny, Fern, the Goat wouldn’t have been idiolised by City fans.

Why is race being brought into the argument. It’s as if the argument is being lost.
