His performance levels haven’t varied much for the last 18 months irrespective of what position he’s played in, and players as out of form (compared to what he’s capable of) as he’s been don’t tend to have much bargaining power in respect of the roles they’re handed
Well then pep is making the same mistake over and over expecting him to be a striker

Is it not possible that there's a legitimate tactical reason as to why he's being selected, and people are just refusing to acknowledge it?
Yes...we have a packed schedule the requires rotation. If we didn't i highly doubt he'd get a look in.

The lad needs to give himself a shake and get back to 2018-20 levels.

It seems he has not been the same since Silva and Sane left, the possibility that they really complemented him is there but then again David would complement any player, we truly haven't replaced him, unfortunately.

well you cant honestly tell me he wasnt played out of his natural position with all the current players we have
So? Torres, Jesus, Bernardo, Foden and KDB all have played in different positions and those abilities were still there. If you are good at dribbling you can play as RB and that ability will show.

Again, other than his end product, what else is Sterling better than other offensive players? That’s why he is criticized more than the others when he doesn’t’t score(plus the little fact that he’s been poor for a long time)

seems like youre looking for any excuse to hate on the lad

You don’t answer my questions.

I don’t hate Sterling. I don’t hate any player, but I am a fan of City, and I want what’s best for City. If I see a player is not playing at the level for City, I am gonna call it out. I don’t care if his name is Mendy, Aguero or Sterling. I don’t care if they are legends or not, about their past, whether they are great people.

If they are legends, then build them a statu, treat them with respect outside of the pitch, offer them a job, keep them to help young people, BUT make them play in the Carabao or as last resort. But if they play as a starter and they are always poor, I am gonna call them out regardless of what they did in the past.

You said he plays out of position. I answer giving you examples of players that have played out of their position and still have their ability.

Your mistaking honesty with hatred
Honesty would be saying that we shouldnt have gotten Grealish while Sterling is still with us, we shouldve went for a CF instead of getting Sterling to cover for CF which is something he doesnt have the skills for apparently. Cant expect the lad to reinvent himself and if he fails blame him for it.

Your totally missing the point if that is your response.

Humour me and show me where I have said that.
If you wish to keep your head in the sand and get all upset at legit criticism of Sterling, then that's up to you, but it doesn't change the fact
I think we shouldve sold Sterling this summer.
I also think youre unfair to ask for him to be a proper CF and the arguments you and the other guy made are stupid , all the players he named have had bad games playing out if position , cpme up with a better argument im here waiting

I haven't asked him to be a CF, your confusing posters.
What was said, and what I agree with, is that skills are not confined to where you play on the pitch.
As for your last sentence, grow up.

The grealish brigade might be after you..

Foden was a midfielder, he was played as LW and was top 3 player last season for us. Cancelo has been great as LB, Bernardo is great helping Rodri and was also great a couple seasons as a RW…Jesus has had good seasons as CF and is having a great season so far as RW. There you have 4 explicit examples. Sure every player in the planet has bad games, especially when they play out of position, but having a poor game every game?

Also you ignore last season. Sterling played on the wings 90% of the time last season. He has played 2 matches on the wings this season. Nothing has changed.

Stupid why? Because I say Sterling doesn’t have the passing, dribbling, retention, pressing, vision, shooting and control that the other City offensive players? Give me examples of where he is top 2-3 in any of this abilities compared to his teammates. Whenever KDB plays as false 9 his vision and passing creativity and shooting are still top.

all thoes players have had bad games playing out of position , and sterling produced us the most goals (goals+assists) in the premier league last season after Gundo, he helped us win it mate
