That felt like a rather passive aggressive addendum...

What? Admitting in the end i could get it wrong? No mate i just say these things to stave off the people who are incapable of reasonable discussion. Its just because if you don't follow a certain set opinion on some things here a few people are unreasonably argumentative. Think nothing of it.

all thoes players have had bad games playing out of position , and sterling produced us the most goals (goals+assists) in the premier league last season after Gundo, he helped us win it mate
And Mario agomez produced the most goals in Bayern 2012/2013. I guess he was the best player in that team… Lampard> Zidane, Gerard> Xavi…

What you just said just proves my point that what Sterlingg brings to the tables is only his end product. That’s why he is criticized way more when he doesn’t produce.

You just make a discovery: players have bad games. Wow. That was never my point, my point is Sterling’s been poor for 90% of matches from last year and a half, whether he plays as CF or on the wings has made no difference.

I truly believe you just don’t read my entire message. It’s like you get caught up with one sentence and that’s what you answer to.

But if you think Sterling had a good last season, then our discussion is pointless.

Re-watching the Lyon debacle, that miss is still unforgivable even to this day.

Prompted me to dig up the highlights. Bastard :)

Such a horrendous miss and it permanently defines that game for every City fan. Everyone's strongest memory is the miss and the Guardiola set-up in the first place. Probably the worst moment of his career.

The almost hero-defining hat-trick against Spurs in the QF the season before to bottom of the barrel villain the year after.

Sad part for me was he didn't deserve it and although it's probably forgotten he actually had a good game.

Worth a re-watch to anyone who has the heart for it. Get's the confidence levels up in case he does play today :)

To be clear on thing though, whilst I defend Sterling on here as much as anyone, I don't want him to start and also think it is highly unlikely that he does. Coming on as a sub later on is perfectly ok though.

His all round game was shit last season though and a lot of the season before hence losing his place. If he was doing the basics right the lack of goals now wouldn’t be half as important. As a lot of people had noticed for 12 months before he finally got goals the tap ins were masking the huge dip in form he’d had.

Question if his current form was how he was from start to finish would he have been considered one of your worst ever players?

I know he can be frustrating but he offers a threat up front that allows us to play and create more.

His movement is, and always will be, outstanding. It’s a shame he doesn’t currently seem to have the bollocks to match it with anything clinical.

The last three posts criticizing him need serious questioning .
He did very well when coming on.

Jack looked out of his depth today , never looked liked liked adding to his 16 premier league goals.

Critiscm of Sterling today says much more about the poster than the player.

The moment when he turned and left two defenders for dead followed by not getting a shot away kind of sums up where he is right now. I don't know what it is but he doesn't look like scoring at the moment. Gabby and Jack deserve to be in the team ahead of him. I do hope he gets form in front of goal because if he doesn't he will be struggling to have a regular place. Fingers crossed.

Nothing to say on here really.

Didn't lose the ball, connected and passed to his teammates. Perhaps he should have been more selfish near the end there but nothing to complain about since he was closed down and found Jesus.

We were more threatening once he came on.

We always look more threatening with a false 9 who will run the channels.

If you look at KDB's goal, it simply doesnt happen with Grealish at false 9 because Sterling attacking the 6 yard box forces the Liverpool CBs deep and creates the space for a shot at the edge of the box.

Torres could also do that IMO, but none of the others.
