75 | Nico O'Reilly - 2024/25

I agree, look at the difference between McAtee and O'Reilly. McAtee looks like he's been playing at this level for a while he's quick in the mind and feet his loan spells definitely did him wonders. He's also strong and is very used to the pace of the game.
Agree on all, except the loan. He needs to learn it here, because he is going to get games in the Cup competitions and he needs to actually experience the speed required.

Pep needs to tell him he needs to play TWO TOUCH unless an extra touch is absolutely necessary. His first touch needs improvement, too. Dzeko-esque at times! ;-)

He’s the right profile for a decent midfielder and if he doesn’t get it here, he’ll make us $25M in the transfer market, no problem!

Not a bad performance last night but he just seems to be a little casual at times, which you can’t get away with at first team level. Pep will hopefully have a word ….

He started of a big rusted he grew into the game I feel though he needs play at a higher level than the youth team now!
you can still see he's in attacking mid mode, wanted to drive forward every time he had it. Wright looked far more comfortable just sitting and recycling. That said, he played well, got stuck in, kept it simple enough, definitely has the physical side to make it a position he can have in the locker down the line. 6/8/10 all within his grasp as a player.

He’s defo got something. I think the step up and the realisation you’re not going to be the best player on the pitch here has probably made him a bit more nervy.

Once he gets over that and learns everything is faster and stronger in the first team I think he’ll do well.

Looks like he’s capable of banging a few in already from range which is a bonus as that’s not something we’ve got in spades.

Agree, clearly there's a talented player there but in this position every time i've watched the (granted not loads) i've preferred Jacob Wright. Wright seems like a natural fit for a 6, he really does suit it imo.

Nico really grew into that game which was a great sign. He looked stronger and stronger and shame his shot was cleared off the line at the end.
