Opportunity is something that is so important in life, so you never know what you or other can or can't do if you are not given opportunity.

Shame he doesn't get opportunity.Just imagine how he feels, our midfielders struggling and he is not getting any minutes Pep trusts more Ric to play in midfield than him.

Someone will give him a chance and when he becomes a very good player, there will be questions why he doesn't play for us.

Pep won't play him even when half the team are playing knackered and with slight knocks if was him I'd go same as McAteer! Pep is to worried about a young player making a mistake or miss pass that he won't play him till he feels 100% they ready!

I wouldn’t blame him.

Foden aside, McAtee is the only one who said he’ll stay and fight for his place. His reward? The odd minute here and there.

Or he can point to Palmer, Rogers, Sancho and their game time.

Saddens me but if I were him, I’d be asking to go.

And fanbase will say he didn’t want to wait for chance or he was not good in training or some other excuse.

Or worse he was not good enough like Palmer
Yep, it’ll be the same excuses. What’s becoming clear is that it doesn’t matter how good they are, Pep prefers ready made players or big money unproven youngsters instead of our own academy.

Other than foden I wouldn’t be surprised if all the best prospects left

he is not a future 6 but a future 8. Sadly he won’t get any chances here with Pep. Pep rather plays Gundogan instead. Probably too dynamic in Pep‘s eyes what he hates. Also doesn’t turn back to the goal everytime he receives it. Goes against Pep‘s control fetish.

What I find a bit odd is that in his post match pressers from recent games Pep has admitted that we don't have legs or energy in our midfield - yet he continues to pick any combination of Gundo, Bernie and Kovacic. It's a shame that he doesn't seem to trust some of the younger players.

Yesterday was a bad selection day for me - I get that Kev cannot last a full match but against a team where he has history of winning us the game almost single handedly I was baffled that he didn't start with him and then bring him off after 60 mins. I would also have played Nico yesterday just for his energy and a fresh approach. We are stuck in the same 65% possession and creating not a lot because we have crab like players in the middle. We desperately need a fresh face in there be it a youngster or a new signing.

Sad but true and you can't blame them,

He will be sold, Chelsea did not want buy back clause to agreed, but some other team will do.
What a shame.
Our academy is just for profit.
It certainly seems that way. Which is disappointing. I think a large number on here would love to see two or three academy products making regular appearances for the first team. But it seems Pep is unwilling to give them a chance. Perhaps he thinks they're simply not good enough? But if you don't give them an opportunity to prove/disprove that, we'll never know.
