Fantastic player and in great form.
Has he been that great since he arrived and we couldn't see that (as much) - due to David Silva`s brilliance or he somehow advanced and improved himself - during the last season ?
Yes, Jorginho is great - but Gundogan plays at the same level - right now..
The posters who wrote him off a couple of years ago must be feeling pretty silly now.
Water under the bridge a lot of posters have had to hold their hands up and admit they mis-judged him , he was never as bad a few posters stated and was a scapegoat for some. But its great that a player rams taunts down peoples throats because the club wins in the end , Gundogan was always a good footballer in my opinion but now he has gone to another level and is a mainstay of the team. The posters who wrote him off a couple of years ago must be feeling pretty silly now.
He was magnificent today, ran the game, doing what he does best, keeping it simple. The very best midfielders in the world always have time on the ball, they also have the uncanny knack of keeping the ball, they also have the ability to find space to receive the ball, today Gundo reminded me of Busquets, he doesn't do anything particularly special, he just keeps the ball moving, what he has added to his game though is the Lampardesque ability to arrive late in the box, which gives him opportunities to score. He must be a dream to play with.
Gaz Barry did a similar job when we signed him in the Mancini era, he was the player who made us tick, nothing special, just keeping it simple.
I agree with the second part of the post, but the first is unduly harsh. He was never a liability. He had a fairly quiet season in 2017/18 but coming off two horrific injuries, that is understandable. Keep in mind also he was not a regular starter and was never going to play the position he occupies now because Silva was the rightful incumbent. So never got the chance to build up consistency and momentum in the team set-up.Not remotely, but if it helps you feel better....
The Gundo of that period was unfit, lacking confidence, and at times bordering on being a liabilty.
To his magnificent credit he has turned that around in such a way that i can't believe its the same player, the one that was tearing it up for Dortmund and looking world class in all competition - i really didnt see that he could rediscover that form.He has become integral to our style and our approach and i have acknowledged that fact several times since i prematurely wrote him off.
Top player,top man.

There were games where he looked completely out of his depth and unfit,he was very much the weak link. Those games were almost always against high energy/combative opponents.....they just by passed him and that often put us up shit creek. He was a shadow of the player we witnessed at Dortmund and the one we know have the privilege of witnessing here.I agree with the second part of the post, but the first is unduly harsh. Nonetheless, he started growing in stature in 2018/19 and played a key role in our 14 game run-in that clinched the title. Has always been a skillful and technically gifted player - now has found his perfect role and is playing with huge confidence. Love him.
You said that almost as often as you repeat your "critizism" of Gündogan. Doesn't make any of it true.Anyway.....thats the last i'll say on that period,as it serves no healthy purpose to refer back to such
