Suffered the same problem Rodri did/does. People kept expecting him to do Fernandinho stuff and not his own stuff.

I think it was because pep had him playing with rodders and not ahead of him , the two together were shit most of the time ,it just needed a tweak , he has never been a bad player

You can see he's planning moves way ahead.

Intelligent on the ball, finds those pockets, keeps possession, keeps the ball flowing and is the vital pivot in this team.

I don't care if he ever scores or assists again, this lad is crucial to our success.

Puts in performances like that whilst strolling around as if he was on the sea front with a Mr whippy and yet many people still don't see him as part of our strongest 11. Unbelievable player. He had zero competition today, the entire midfield had a free day as arteta inexplicably decided to have no midfield against us so can't go overboard but he does that whether he's up against nobody or has 3 people marking him.
