We're used to having transfer fees rammed down our throats but no-one ever mentions what a bargain Gundogan was (even before his recent run of amazing form). His price gets mentioned about the same number of times as Maguire, Fred, Marshit and Pogba.

It's the arrogance of those comments that always bothered me.

If a player's not good enough, then there's a 99% chance that the club know it and feel the same way too. There is not 1 player that I believe is getting minutes that is disliked online that somehow Pep has a blindspot to. If they were not good enough, they would have been sold or loaned out at the first opportunity, or used as minimally as possible otherwise.

A player like Gundogan who can excel at 6, at 8, at 10 and at false 9 is a real rarity. It takes exceptional intelligence to play all these roles with success.

When you look up "world class" in the dictionary you'll find Gundo's picture. Unbelievable performance again.

Reminds me, in a weird way, of Michael Ballack at his peak. The way he can move up and down the pitch and be decisive in whichever area he's in.

Gundogan is in the best form of his career. 11 PL goals this season, scored 18 goals in 169 games for Dortmund. Incredible really.
