Don't care about his penalty miss vanchi. It happens. But any suggestion that he's 25-30 million well spent, regardless of how we finish the season doesn't line up with what we've seen. Or what we saw at Chelsea. You disagree, i respect that, but thats how i see it.

I think in some games he's been good for us and necessary

the problem is we didn't replace quality with quality, we've replaced quality with just good and he fits into the latter category.

he's definitely not a bad player and is good enough to be to be a squad player in good teams. It's just we really needed to replace the quality with lost with a near equal and then still have Kova..

oh but this is the direct consequence of his penalty.

i won’t go into is that amount of money well spent or not. when he signed for city early in the window there was no mention of kova being the gundo substitute.

the narrative changed when gundo left and city still didn’t sign a midfielder. he was suddenly promoted to inadequate gundo clone. honestly, i never thought he was signed to be a key player, more like experienced squad player, but that’s just my opinion.

buying a friend for joško thing, well my brain can’t process something like that, not from a serious, well run club like city.

kova wasn’t supposed to play in madrid and only played tonight cos kdb asked to be subbed off.

i don’t know why he took that penalty, i assume pep decides that. i don’t even remember him taking penalties for croatia, on the other hand rodri scored two penalties in one game for spain during last international break. don’t get it.

He also came on with 3 minutes left in the Spurs game when we held a 3-2 lead (with what I can only assume was 1 job, hold the lead) and proceeded to watch the setup play for kulusevski's goal. Neither making a decent effort to press nor getting back into a decent shape.

Have I made my point yet?
I can keep going.

I've been calling him out long before he missed that penalty.

Do you see how many italians we have in the squad? Camaraderie is important in a football club. Penalties mean nothing to me, it happens, you'll see i'm fairly consistent with my opinion on him.

What a difference a week makes!

Only complaint is the run up telegraphs the pen and it was so poor the keeper almost dived OVER it.

He feels it worse than we do, so no point hating.

These are fair points to be made about the penalty shootout itself, but his particular miss in this shootout didn't change my opinion of him.

His defensive lapse in the first leg that allowed Valverde to score unmarked annoyed me far more than the penalty, but it was also simply a continuation of a pattern that I already saw.
