Played really well yesterday. Buzzed around, got involved, but in a way that still meant he kept his head down and stayed sensible.

Probably for the best, long-term, that he missed that shot at the end. Will teach him not to do it again - he had loads of better options and ignored them.

Created the chance where Bernardo tried to chip the keeper. Created the chance that Sterling made a hash of. Had a shot saved by Pickford that lead to Sterling then having a follow up shot. Had the shot that ricocheted to Bernardo for his goal. And that against an ultra defensive Everton setup. We don’t have many better options for the false 9 position. Foden has played it beautifully but often we need that left footer on the left.

Realistically of course, our midfield works so well without Kev that it’ll be Kev that plays the most games in the false 9 position, just to fit him in. But Cole didn’t exactly harm his chances v Everton. Very good game from him.

Thought he played well and showed what an eye for a pass he has later in the game. His movement was good throughout. Shame the one opportunity he had to shoot outside the box was a bit wayward. Hope he becomes an i,portent player for us.

The timing and quality of the through ball to Kyle tells me we have some player on our hands. Great to see him get playing time and especially good to see McAtee get on the pitch - would hate it if James wants to move on (perhaps he should look at Sancho for reference). We could have the starting midfield for England for the next decade at this rate.
