Peps basically rubbished this before it was even said, in his pre match conference Pep said the emergence of Palmer had no impact on him being happy for Torres to go. More easy 2+2 journalism.

Actually think it would have been a decent loan, he's sniffing around the periphery with us but 5 months of playing every week in the prem I think would bring him on so much more, he needs the games to develop both his game and his body to mens football.
 
Palmer has progressed very well and has clearly been training super well. He's def caught Pep's eye.

I think Palmer's presence, Sterling regaining form, etc has all made selling Torres that much easier.

Palmer doesn't have the "international pedigree" of Torres but has grown up in our system and offers depth in numerous attacking positions.
