He's not a midfielder, but I don't think Pep played him there because he wants him to be a midfielder.

He wants him to learn many roles like Cancelo who can play all over the pitch. At his current age, Pep is focusing on having him learn on the pitch, rather than just develop at RB linearly.
Thought he had a nice cameo today

Previously I've felt that he was a bit tepid and nervy (understandably so, given his age). Today, he looked a bit more confident and more like the player he actually is.

Wow what performance i know he was asked to not risk too much but if he gets the freedom he could make real damage , could be a real option next season, hopefully we don’t buy that settle infront of him

He's never going to be a midfielder, priority was to rest key players and he gets experience on the pitch wherever it is, win-win.

We won't know what his chances are of making it here until he fills out, he hasn't developed into a man yet, he needs to have a substantial growth spurt and fill out before he can have a top class career. Fantastic experience for him in the meantime whilst we wait for that to happen, doesn't need to do anything flashy at this stage, just needs to be reliable and he hasn't done anything wrong so far.
