I was there with his Grandad again tonight, fantastic performance again. He gets better with every game and there's so much more to come from him.
It's all a bit surreal that my mates grandson plays for City and has such a bright future.

I’m assuming he’s blue through and through?

That’d be Foden, Haaland, Gomez, Palmer and Lewis as City fans in the first team.

The fact that he's been getting played at full back and centre mid for Pep at such a young age speaks volumes.

It's one thing to be given a chance in a low risk position across the frontline but to be trusted with the responsibility to play two positions of which the manager demands so much and to switch between the two like he's been with the first team for years is genuinely incredible.

And, besides anything else, you could tell he was playing well because they kept leaving one on him every few minutes.

Thought he struggled against Chelsea but last night was as good as having Walker at right back

What I enjoyed seeing, and I noticed it a few times, was he was also happy and confident enough to let their winger stray beyond him, knew that even if he wasn’t given offside he’d have the recovery pace to get back at him.

He moved into midfield as inverted fullback with John being right of back 3.

Saved us £50m and still has a few years to learn and progress under Walker yet too. Brilliant

Yep. The transition and timing could be perfect

As others have said , the timing of his breakthrough is what has helped him

this happens with so many youth players , while others with similar abilities never get the chance

if we can transition between him and walker that would be ideal. I wouldn’t have any problem with him playing against anyone after the display last night

we now just need Gomez to step up on the left , he has the technical ability but cannot defend , he also doesn’t have the tenacity that Rico has

Absolutely class last night. He was much more confident playing the inverted role and getting on the ball - receiving it in some really tight positions but playing under that pressure comfortably. An excellent performance from him against very difficult opposition. Brilliant to see our young lads come through and perform like that.
