Hope he doesn't play otherwise fans will blame him for defeats and calling him names. Which we can already see here. He hasn't done much wrong
Ever since I was a kid going to watch City certain fans have always needed a scapegoat. Rememberbig Joe Corrigan being cheered because he caught a simple cross. City fans can be cruel.

Or just beyond the ken of your average football fan?

Much as I would have selected a different team yesterday and made subs earlier, I can see straight-forward reasons why Pep didn't. I also know that I couldn't manage a football team - at any level; albeit, the one season I did (back in the 80's, we won our division (IIRC only dropping points in one league game and went out of the cup to the team that won the First Division - my team was in 2nd Div).
Agreed it takes a special talent to draw with Everton at home considering the strengths of the teams involved.

Some of the comments in here have me worried for the lad.

If fans are now blaming him for a draw in which he was arguably the most consistently reliable player (and has been for all of his appearances), imagine what happens when he plays and we lose.

A few in here sounding very raggish, if I am brutally honest. For all the “Pep should give youth a chance” rhetoric, a few are very quick to turn on one of our most promising young players for no discernible reason other than presumably looking for a scapegoat, rather than highlighting the players that were actually terrible in the match (and at fault for the poor performance) because… reasons?

Just watching the game back. Through the entire match, Rico does not put one foot wrong. He does everything that he can reasonably be expected to do. Collecting the ball tidily, never being caught in possession, building useful attacks from a midfieldish position. of course, if you require him to be a combination of Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker, with bit of prime Rúben thrown in, then he has abjectly failed.
Incredible that anybody could be getting on his case.
P.S. Kev himself was downright shite.

While we're at it can he have Yayas engine and Vinnys leadership as well?

He was our best player first half for me, but I thought everton worked him out second half, and I thought he got in the way a bit, but there were far worse than him.

Agree. Thought his presence congested the midfield and made it harder for us to find space but he didnt put a foot wrong. That was down to pep instructions for him to play inverted and nothing with his performance which was very assured again.
