The lad is quality, he's never looked out of place when he has played in the first team. Pep seems to rate him. He will most likely keep improving as he is still very young. Excited to see how he progresses.

He’s a very good young player and Pep clearly rates him very highly. Imo, he is far from being the finished article. Like others on here I don’t think he’s a full back but I cant quite figure out exactly what Is his best position. He’s not a defensive midfielder like Rodri and he’s not an attacking midfielder like Foden. Maybe he’s more like Bernie when he plays that kind of hybrid DM/AM role. He’s a great prospect without doubt.

I was being serious. I can’t name a better 18 year old central midfielder in the world, and was asking if you did, that’s all.

Gavi could be argued, but he’s more of a 10 than an 8.

No biggie.
Someone in here compared his play last night to Bernardo. "He's like grealish". He's the new rodri. All sounds over excited to me. I don't see those things in him.

I see a good solid player. That's about it I'm afraid. Sorry. I'll duck out of here.

It’s obviously too soon for him to be as good as Bernardo or Rodri, but they weren't the players they are now at 18.

None of us know where Rico’s ceiling is. He might be a mega star, or he might be a decent versatile rotation option for us.

Time will tell, but he’s way ahead of most midfielders of his age.

I doubt there's too many on here claiming that Rico is the finished article, to be fair. If there are, they're kidding themselves. He's an excellent prospect, and he's under the right manager to bring him on, if he has the patience. Witness how Foden was slowly brought along. Phil is now benefitting from that cautious approach. And he's still only 23.

Phil is a better player by a country mile IMHO, Rico will be sold like Palmer was if he demands more game time.
Er Rico is getting an awful lot more game time than Palmer , which kind of suggests a) That Pep rates him very highly as he is being used in a position of high responsibility and
b) He is highly unlikely to be sold.

No one and that would include Phil , Stones and Rodri cannot be sold if they say they want to go because the manager is not giving them enough game time. Pep decides how much time to give players not the player.

Which was my point, and my point still stands I don't believe he will be good enough to get a near permanent start.

Nowhere near the level of Phil at the same age and now.
