He never looked out of place and he played so well in the right half position. The game seemed so natural for him there.

People rave about Bellingham and rightly so but Rico is 18 months younger. When he is the same age he could be as good or better than Bellingham(is now) if he keeps on progressing like he is.

You forgotten who the manager is? Waistcoat wouldn't have a clue what to do with Rico. Foden can't play central for him because "he doesn't play there for his club" apparently, so he'd implode with the idea of using Rico who plays a different position everytime he sets foot on the pitch.Sneaky feeling he’s going to be in the England squad fairly soon.

Brilliant tonight, loved him bombing on into space and starting attacks. Such an intelligent player, looks a bit stronger than he did last year too.

A couple of moments stood out for me. In the first half he lost the ball in an attacking position in their half. He chased furiously back and won the ball back near our box. Pep would have been so pleased with that tenacity.
Secondly (also in the first half) when he tore through and almost scored. It's that sort of never say die attitude that Pep would love.
As they say it's not the size of the dog in the fight!

If you ever wanted to see an example of how players improve and develop under Pep, watch Rico’s performance tonight. He has all the natural attributes, but the movement, special awareness, body shape when receiving the ball, all text book Pep. What a prospect, and a local lad with seemingly a great and humble attitude. Brilliant.
