Him and Foden were the best players on the pitch today, I thought.

I've not been convinced by Rico up until last night. He isn't yet strong enough to be a defender for us. He is still so young and needs to get stronger on the ball. But last night he was top class. When he did get bullied off it, he was like a terrier getting back and winning it again. Superb drive with the ball, excellent support running and movement and just a top class attitude.

When Foden missed in the first half and was frustrated, Rico picked him up and dusted him down. He has a real edge to him, getting stuck in and never backing down. That's why Pep rates him so highly. Make no mistake, that's a good side we played. Not the best in Europe, but still very good particularly in midfield. And he looked very comfortable at that level.

Thrilled for him.

Proper haircut, and very iconic, he is his own man, superb attitude, superb player.

Some of those Cruyff turns would make the great man proud.

I've said this since the first time I saw him play, but his body shape is always spot on. Reminds me of La Masia graduates in many ways, which I suppose as a product of our academy all the way through its to be expected - 11 when Pep joined.

Also showed some tenacity last night - first half he was bumped off it, chased the player back, won the ball and then used it very intelligently again

Think he’s proving once and for all that he is not a full back. He’s absolutely unreal in midfield, bossing Champions League away games at just 18.

His worst performances have been when he's been used as a replacement for Rodri, which he doesn't have the strength, physicality or game intelligence (yet) to do. But when he's playing alongside Rodri, he really shines. Even when playing right back, his best performances last season were coming inside next to Rodri to make a two.
