Another good game. I would like to see him at right back more though. Still think he has all the skills to be good there
Same. I was slightly disappointed to hear Pep say his future was in midfield earlier.Another good game. I would like to see him at right back more though. Still think he has all the skills to be good there
I'm with Pep on this, definitely a midfielder.Same. I was slightly disappointed to hear Pep say his future was in midfield earlier.
It took a lot of fans years to understand how good Gundogan was.Really? Thought he was absolutely superb last night. He is such a gifted player. I think he’s most like Gundogan in style. Can’t really defend like him either but as a pivot or 8 he’s technically so good.
He should. He’s probably England’s best midfielder. He’s certainly England’s most tactically and positionally aware midfielder.Think he can make the England Euro squad. If not it sure won't be long before he's playing alongside Rice, which will allow Bellingham to play behind or off Kane with Foden and Saka to either side. That's different gravy.
Simply incredible from an 18 year old.It took a lot of fans years to understand how good Gundogan was.
I think you are right in your comparison and it’s probably why some are struggling to rate Lewis so highly.
The penny will drop at some point. The guy is a superstar in the making.
He's definitely not a right-back but he's going to be a brilliant CM. His intelligence and situational awareness is unbelievable for a kid. He needs to bulk up a bit, maybe grow an inch, and he needs to start executing his passes a bit faster. But all those things have already improved from last season and will get better.Still not really convinced with what he is that he gives us, or what he excels at.
Obviously age is well on his side, but just not sure he's a right back, or will ever be good enough to play centrally for us regularly.
Hope I'm wrong!
From an attacking perspective, he is more like Bernie as most his runs are out wide rather than the central ghosting runs that Gundo made. Doesn't matter really. The reality is that at 18 he is a phenomenally gifted footballer who could be one of our mainstays for years to come if he continues his rate of development. It took a lot of fans years to understand how good Gundogan was.

He was much better than Phillips and Nunez last night though and will get better as he develops. I think Rico has a great future.Sorry I still dont rate him. He's good but not at a level we are at. technically very good, but his creativity isnt anything sppecial, he works very hard though and is a solid member of the team. He will do what he's told and do it well. Maybe thats the thing I am missing in him, I miight be expecting too much.

It's crazy to me that some people are not rating him
He was just doing his GCSE's a couple of years ago and now he's being asked to play in Champions League games, often in a position that would take a much more experience player to carry out that position and he's doing it very well.
It's not like he's some 18 year old luxury player that you can play in a position up front where he doesn't have to be too involved, often he's been put in a role where he's pretty much the engine of the team and has to play with real intelligence.
How many 18 year olds are carrying out at that kind of role in a team at a high level? I'll wait for that answer and probably be waiting a long time.
Far from the finished article obviously but he's going to be a brilliant player in my opinion.
