He’ll likely get very little credit for it, because apparently he can’t defend very well, but Rico saved us from a Hammers equaliser at a crucial moment in the match with some astoundingly good last man defending, forcing Bowen to play the low cross wide, which forced Kudus to take a touch further wide and hit the shot on to the post. Lesser defending and Kudus likely gets to one time it from the centre of goal.
And I thought he was quite good, otherwise, as well. He only actually let Kudus get off one dangerous cross (the other he had played Kudus in to an offside position), and actually pocketed him in the later stages of the match.
Oh, and he was again absolutely everywhere.
