82 | Rico Lewis - 2024/25

His only attribute I have been able to see in his 70 odd games City career is a 5-6 yard pass in the direction he is facing. He isn't near strong enough, can't head, can't shoot, can't run back at speed and doesn't drive past opposition. Needs a rest, but sadly due to poor recruitment of late he is unlikely to get one.

I personally think he shit out of that third goal. Turned his back when he should've flung himself at the ball & player with the result on the line.

He also played that lad onside who crossed the ball. Inexcusable when you're the furthest player looking across the line.

Ederson shouldn't have come racing out granted, but Rico should take alot of blame for that third.

People in here highlighting he's only 20, again granted, but he has played 80 professional games for us across 4 seasons. If he hasn't learnt his trade in that space of time, when will he?

Hilarious that some are putting any of their goals on him. I mean, look at the backline as a whole on the third, which is the only one you can maybe put on him.

Pep promoted him simply for his ball retention skills in midfield. Philipp Lahm was very similar in this regard.

Huh? Lahm was the best RB + already an icon. Pep had no choice but to include Lahm who was the captain too. You are comparing one of the best RB of all time with a rookie who shows nothing. At least Lahm was a defensive wall his whole career. Lewis is just passing easy passes. He occupies space. He doesn’t shoot. He doesn’t dribble. He doesn’t defend well. We have 3 players who don’t know how to score or assist In Bernardo, Grealish and Lewis. It’s obvious why we struggle to score goals.
