Some people don't like him and they are entitled to that opinion but nobody can deny he is a very valuable asset. 20 yr old England international with 3 years of experience under his belt already is somebody you have to tie down to a lengthy contract.

Not good enough but that seems to be the theme amongst a lot of our current playing staff. So I’m not sure if the whole team is struggling or certain players are not good enough for city.

At 20, Kyle Walker had played just 2 games for Spurs by the end of his first season with them where he signed for them in January (most weeks he was either on the bench or not included in the squad); DSilva hadn’t played a game for his parent club Valencia yet and had two seasons out on loan at Elbar and Celta; De Bruyne was still at Genk; Gündoğan was still at Nürnberg; Rodri was playing for Villarreal B in the Segunda; Stones was still at Everton; Mahrez was playing for Le Harve II in the French second div; Kompany had played just 6 games at Hamburg… none of them were the players they ended up becoming yet.

Lewis could well become a top class player in his prime. Pep obviously sees something in him.

On here don’t see it quite yet - myself included - but it’s time to acknowledge Pep et al have forgotten more about football than we will ever know and get behind the lad every time he pulls on the shirt. All the best Rico.

I've changed my mind about Rico and now think he'll be successful here. Maybe just wishful thinking, but I trust the club. He's only 20 and will get better. And he is a good lad, which is important.

Remember when United were dominate and they had the likes of Wes Brown, John O’Shea, Phil Neville who used to all slot into a variety of positions. Club trained. Never moaned about game time.

Maybe that’s what Rico will be. When building a squad, Academy utility guys are important.

Barca used to be good at it as well.
