87 | James McAtee - 2024/25

Like a kid in a sweet shop in that interview. Has all the personal as well as footballing attributes Pep loves. His movement across the front line was superb, always finding space. He can finish as well. Pep now easing him in, and think he’s going to be a big player for us in the years to come. He looks like he belongs already. Love how the players were so pleased for him with his goal. Going to become a favourite here if he gets the game time. Does remind me of another player of the same size and stature in tight spaces. Hope he gets some minutes on Saturday.

So happy for the lad. He's gone away and put some tough yards in plying his trade and is now back and scoring in the CL. His movement was excellent. I'd love to see him play with Haaland personally, as his weight of passing is superb. Hard for him to make much of an impact when he's playing with 4 other number 10s, which is how it felt last night, but a wonderful goal and the first of many hopefully.

Really solid cameo. As long as he continues to get better and contribute, he will be fine and probably save us £50-60m in the market. Thought Pep's comments were interesting about wanting him to feel more confident and comfortable within the squad.

I can see him being the favoured sub that replaces Halaand when Erling is taken off after games are won. He provides a goal threat but can also retain the ball so ideal for seeing games out. If he can do that role well and maybe snatch a few goals it should build his confidence and allow him to compete for a starting place.

Quite likely, although it would be good to see him play off Haaland more, too.

He said similar things about Phil Foden a few years ago.
