I think we will regret letting him go, and should really try to convince him to stay.

He has great positioning, and has just been unlucky with some chances. He can easily do a grealush kinda role as well on the right where he controls the ball.

He satisfies the homegrown quota and loves the club.

Wasn’t really in the game at all last night!! But given the time to grow I believe he could become an outstanding player

Feel like yesterdays miss has done him no favours at all. To miss the ball completely when there's a good chance any connection would've been a goal won't have gone down well with Pep I fear

I dunno why he reminds me of Real's Rodrygo.

Totally anonymous at times and then pops up in a scoring position.

If he can perfect his goal scoring.. he'll be some asset, but ultimately I think it will come down to him wanting to sign a contract with City.

Only 1 year left and if he doesn't sign.. that means City will have to cash in on him.

Wouldn't be upset if using him plus cash for Wirtz ends up falling through and he's still here next year. He has a knack for popping up in dangerous positions like Gundo and isn't afraid to put a ball into the box.

Pre said he wanted him to stay months ago when he said he not going out on loan so around January
Ah ok, so he’s not really said he won’t sign a new contract, it’s just implied.

Well, if he won’t sign after a few PL starts and some nice praise from Pep then he doesn’t seem to have the bollocks to make a name for himself in this team.

If he won’t sign and stay, let him go as long as it isn’t another prem side.

He should look at our struggles as an opportunity and back himself to be better than whoever else we’ve got out wide and in the 10.

Any player that doesn’t back themself like that shouldn’t be here, they don’t have the mentality for it.

I wouldn’t trust Pep either. Has nothing to do with not having bollocks. Pep said this and that he still didn’t play and wasted his time. Makes sense if he doesn’t wanna extend

Based on what? He’s absolutely nowhere near the level.

Hopefully he can be made part of the Wirtz deal

Dunno I reckon he doesn’t back himself like Phil does. Sancho didn’t back himself either, a nice couple years in Germany yes but look where he is now.

I feel like it's a case of giving him more time and seeing who he connects with on the pitch. I felt like both him and Gundo were largely anonymous midweek, both looking to make those late bursts into space but being ignored. It's more effective having one player making those runs so maybe playing when Gundo doesn't would help.

He's a talented lad but isn't taking his chances yet. Has had a few opportunities to score and missed. His set piece delivery is excellent, that free kick that Gvardiol was inches from was superb.

Needs more time. I wasn't impressed with O'Reilly when he got minutes in the middle of the pitch but he's kicked on and shown his talent now he's filling in at LB. McAtee is still only 22 so no need to rush into deciding he's not good enough just yet.

As Pep would say it McAtee has the "smell" for goals, he is always in the right spot, but got unlucky.

Homegrown, young, just needs to be convinced he is part of the future to sign the deal.

Sure, if part of some Wirtz deal I of course get it, but if that isnt happening, convince him to take some deal. He is easily worth 50+m.

Dunno about £50m, couple average loan spells at Sheff U and unable to break into a struggling city team. The reported £25-30m seems fair and probably all we’re able to get.

Hope he screws his head on, signs on, works hard and breaks into the 11.

That 25-30 is only because he has 1 year left.

If he had multiple years left, we probably wouldnt accept anything less than 50.

Especially given people know he is part of the crew with Palmer, and is showing great talent as a still young english player.

I feel like our academy players are held to a different standard compared to some of our 50/60m signings who are often wildly inconsistent and out of form

One of our young players plays a few times and does well, they then have an inevitable spell where they are inconsistent and lose form. Some of our fans then absolutely rinse them and say they aren’t good enough.

It was only last year when rico Lewis was a top young player, now he’s not good enough. Foden, palmer, Mcatee and even Pusey have had the same. As soon as O’reily has a bad patch it’ll be the same.

We need to be more patient with them, as I honestly think we could/ could have saved ourselves huge amounts of money. Quite a few of them are more than good enough
