9/11 memories,where were you.

Just got home from school as the 1st plane hit, then watched the second one hit. Didn't really shock me as it was TV, but years later watching youtube footage and hearing people screaming whilst watching made it feel alot more real.

I was on a layover in the Seychelles and had just come back from a day scuba diving with my yank mate Kerri. I got out of the shower and put the news on just as the second jet hit. I called him and told him to put on the tv. He had relatives in NY but none were involved. We spent the week wondering how long we would have a job as it was obvious the airline industry was about to take a dive. We both had our contracts cancelled 2 months later.

Finished work and walked in a few mins before the second plane hit. Everyone thought it was a total accident....then the second one hit.

I just sat there watching in amazement for hours. Various reports of planes flying towards other major places, think Downing St or the Palace was mentioned.

To this day the most jaw dropping moment of my life. I love all the documentarys and just watching it, which I know sounds a little disturbing. It was just so surreal and very sad.

I was in Atlanta in the middle of a USA working holiday. I had been in NYC only 6 days before.

When it happened , they way people were talking and acting I thought I was never going to get home again. Scary times.

But the worst thing for me . . .I had visted the towers while in NYC about 10 days before it happened, We had a meal in the windows of the world resturant at the top of the tower. I met one of the Chefs and had a really good chat with him and also a few of the staff. ,. . . Its really hard to know that him and the staff died that day. There was no way they got out, they will have been trapped above they crash floors.
for about 6 weeks after all I could think about was their faces and what it must have been like when the floors caved in from under them.

For me 9/11 was a moment in history that changed my view on life.

Was in Laganas, Zante, working when I went to some appartments I was looking after. (Pink Panther) Saw it all on the TV. Total shock!

The Pink Panther! My that brings back some memories

For 9/11 I had just walked in from school and I saw my dad stood there in total total shock. I hav never ever seen him like that and he just told me what had happened. Me, my bro and Sis mum n dad set there all evening and watched it unfold. The most amazing sight I have ever witnessed was when the towers had collapsed and the ash, dust and smoke just flowed through the streets and out across the water. Horrible to think of the thousands of innocent people who died but watching it was just surreal.

For the London bombings me and my fiancée were in Malia walking back from the beach and we just saw loads of random people crying their eyes out. Walked past 1 bar and there was just loads if people sat their on phones and in tears. Nobody really went clubbing that night, everyone was just sat around and talking to one another but still drinking. There were still people who had t got in contact with loved ones at home and I felt very proud to be British that night. Everyone was just helping each other out, using other peoples phones etc.

I was in the board room an Maine Rd when the firat plane struck. I was asked to pop into the offices to fix a spreadsheet (I was at college, knew IT so they asked for 5 minutes of help) when someone told us. I presumed it was a small plane, until I went upstairs and saw it on tv. Went home and the second plane had already hit. Me and my mates were on the phone to each other all afternoon. We genuinely believed a nuclear weapon would be fired that afternoon.

Went to Notts County for the game and it was surreal. We did celebrate our goals and missed kick off getting updates on the telly in their main entrance. As Keegan said, it wasnt a night for fpotball.

If there was ever a day the world changed, that was it. For a few weeks after, fear and sadness were everywhere. You kids cant grasp the horror and impact of that day
