I don't think it's got anything to do with him overshadowing the team, Pep has spoken many times about how carefully Haaland needs to be managed. He could have scored a few more had he not been substituted as much but by the same token, he might have scored a lot less if he was picking up injuries. Also, today was a unique situation with it being 3-0 at HT and a massive game against Bayern in a few days. Alvarez deserves to play too.

He’s played them both up front you know,on odd occasions

I feel sorry for them on the 40 goal bet, could still happen and my fingers are crossed for each and everyone whose not cashed, but if it doesn’t blame Pep

The amount of times he’s take him off on 2 is astonishing, and quite frankly bemusing,it’s not all about him,I get it but come on man for fuck sakes,Pep scared of him overshadowing the team, has to be

The lad could be on over 40 now,and you all know it
Haaland needs to be managed, when he signed the bitters were all questioning his fitness with him regularly missing game over the last few years, we are working out how to manage his minutes to keep him on the pitch when it matters. Plus there's an Argentinian fella in our squad who's just won the world cup we need to get in the side whe ln we can. I get that we all want to see him absolutely obliterate every record straight away but that's not going to be even entering peps mind whilst we have trophies to contend for and that's precisely how it should be.

People forget but this time last year, Haaland was an ''injury merchant made of glass''. Some people were questioning if he's capable of playing 4 games in a row without getting injured. Our medical team and Pep did a fantastic job with him.

And Pep's doing him a favor. It's much likelier he breaks records while on this current schedule. Staying healthy while playing 60-70min and scoring a goal or two every game is better than scoring a few hattricks in a row and then lying injured for a month or two.

I’ll come back and agree when we win the trophies we are still on for then in May

The guy is unreal, i didnt think i could love a striker more than sergio but im afraid Erl is my new man crush. And just Imagine how many more he could score if Pep allowed him too stay on the pitch for longer than 45mins! :-)
Imagine how much more he could get injured aswell

My favourite new ridiculous Haaland stat.

He has a touch conversion rate of 5.5% in the League and Champions League combined.

Meaning roughly every 18th touch of the ball is to put it in the back of the net.

This is more than two and a half times better than the nearest competition, Harry Kane, who is knocking around the 1 in 50 mark (just less than 2%) while having one of the best goalscoring seasons in Premier League history. It's also nearly exactly 4x more clinical than Rashford who is at 1 in 72 (1.4%).

Plus the 40+ betters shouldn't fret just yet. Based on his goals/minutes ratio in the league (1 per 70), with the games we have left he's on track for about 42/43. Let's be honest. It'll only take two-three good games out of eight for him to hit 40.

I'm sure Haaland would prefer doing what hes doing with a chance of winning trophies than go looking for personal achievements like Kane and winning fuck all, its a team game
