15 goals would not be a success, ridiculous to suggest that as similar stats to the likes of Zaha. If the club expected that contribution they would not be letting the likes of Jesus/Sterling leave so easily.

How many games is he going to play? How many times will Pep bench him for no reason? How fast is he going to adapt? There are a lot of factors in play. 20+ goals is possible, but not as easy as some may think.

It would have to take something freakish for Haaland to fail in his first season.

Sterling managed 13 in the league alone last season and was hardly a regular and does not play as a striker.

If we match previous seasons we will probably hit around 150/160 goals. To suggest if our new striker hits a tenth/eleventh of the total it will be a good season is not at all realistic. For comparison Mahrez got 24, KDB 19 and Sterling 17 last season.

His expected league goals on betfair is 26.

Mate, you peppered the Haaland transfer thread with your predictions of the buyout clause being unimportant because he'd following the money, him going to united, then changed to Real Madrid and also Pep managing a national side at Euro 2024.

Give us your lottery numbers so I can avoid any overlaps.

Monday night's numbers...

26, 27, 35, 45, 47, 54

Send me 10% of your winnings.

Haaland will play more games in his career for Real Madrid than he will for City.

;-)

Cmon, I understand expecting 60-70 goals is too much, but Haaland is literally the biggest star we have signed, and (with Mbappe) the player who is supposed to win most individual prizes for the next 10 years, and people say 15 goals would be fine.

He has amazing speed, physicality, shooting, good on headers, great movement, good positioning, and he will be a starter immediately. He will score 30 at the very least and most likely around 40 goals.

Haaland scored more than a goal per whole game played for Dortmund in all competitions.

Furthermore he has so far scored 23 goals in 1463 minutes in Champions League and has only taken two penalties. That means 1 goal every 63rd minute.

Compare that to:

Messi 1 goal in every 104 th minute
Lewandowski 1 goal in every 105 th minute
CR 1 goal in every 114 th minute
Mbappè 1 goal in every 125 th minute
Aguero 1 goal in every 126 th minute
Salah 1 goal in every 157 th minute

And all of those players have played most of their games in huge dominating clubs while Haaland has been playing his games in clubs like Salzburg and Dortmund, and let's not forget, while being under 22 years of age.

Haaland isn't the best player of the lot but he is the best goal scorer the world has ever seen (with the possible exception of Gerd Müller). He is definitely capable of scoring 50+ goals only in PL if he plays every minute for a team like City.

I have made a bet for Haaland scoring 35+ goals in PL alone and that is practically money in the bank if he plays more than 30 games and takes penalties (which he should considering what we have seen of City in the last two years).

No one buys a striker with his record, pays that transfer money and wage and think that it is not going to be easy for him to score more than 20 goals. If Haaland scores less than 20 goals that would be a massive fiasco.

My mind didn’t even register that you guys were talking about goals in all competition. ignore my post.

Still surreal that hes going to be playing for us. Hes going to rip it up
The kid is a beast in size and stature and his pace and power will cause all sorts of problems for PL cb's. Especially looking forward to seeing how he gets on against Van Dijk, will be an interesting contest.

They’re not going to get much out of him. Hope he keeps the fuckers salty. Ha

Reminds me of Zlatan in the sheer unabashed confidence, the height and power, the star potential. Unlike Zlatan though he doesn't seem to take it to the point of arrogance, which is good. And he's a lot more mobile than even prime Zlatan was.

still not seen him in a y training videos. Theyve showed ortega, phillips and alvarez.
maybe hes donkeying everything like nunez :)
