It’d be about the press. If Pep decided to go with Foden/Bernardo as a false 9 to press them to death, then bring Haaland on for the last half hour.

Probably nonsense and he’ll score 5 there.
I can definitely see that. But for me it's about the impact on Haaland. I don't think he has the massive ego some reports like to make out but he's young and wants to play the big matches like these.
Sterling wanted to leave because he saw his arse over not being picked for the big games anymore. I know it's not the same situation here but think Haaland would be pissed off being left out the starting line up against Liverpool, even with the full intention of bringing him on.
I think bringing him on as sub against lesser Prem teams helps manage his minutes in a way that doesn't upset the apple cart too much.

Not saying I want to see him on the bench but just imagine how destructive he could be coming on at 60 minutes. Defenses have just had an hour of Alvarez, Foden and Bernardo running the legs off them then on comes a fresh Haaland.
Totally plausible he could come off the bench and score hattricks. Regularly. Best supersub ever.
There will be games where Haaland starts on the bench to give him a rest and if we're losing with 20-30 minutes to go, I have no doubt that Haaland will come on and absolutely run riot against tiring defenders.

You keep hearing reading how you going to stop him!

When will Danny Murphy going to say you got to give him a kick!

At 22 his anticipation, speed of thought and movement in box is up there with Lewandowski's and he's physically more imposing than him. The mind boggles what he can achieve.

I'm even hopeful his desire to celebrate with and acknowledge the fans will encourage a few more to stick around!

If fit Pep should be picking him to start every game because just having him on the game sheet will make the opposition shit it and pep can still sub him around 60mins
I think he'll start most if not all games barring the Carabou Cup... he's guaranteed goals and can be spared 20 mins most games

Was hoping he would score one more goal last night to get his scoring average up to 2 goals a game. When was the last time if ever you heard of somebody with those scoring stats

Pre-match I predicted 12 touches and 2 goals. He actually had 16 touches and 3 goals. Those shock 4 extra touches are all it takes to incorrectly predict his goal return!

He'll score a hatful against a lot of teams not because of his finishing but because he's just too quick for the big defenders that most teams have.

He doesn't do anything really special, he just stands in the box most of the time but because of his turn of pace to create space no-one can cope with him.

I think the English game is going to change defensively big time. You now need quick and mobile centre-halves but if you have big bruisers who turn off even for a moment then you don't stand a chance.

He's the Jonah Lomu of football.
This is exactly it,

He‘s stronger and faster than any other player in the league

any free balls in the box there is no way to stop him getting on the end of it and scoring

he‘s also got amazing movement in that he’s always in the right place at the right time

we‘ve also not really seen his rocket left foot yet

that leap for the hat trick , ridiculous

hes reinvented the goal poachers role in modern football
