Kane comes deep to collect the ball at times and his link up and hold up play is on another planet to what Haaland's is currently. He would get himself involved in the game.
He wouldn't be in the box though when the ball is played and we'd just have the same issues.

He's been sussed out now. Be lucky if he scores anither 10 goals from now until the end of the season. We just simply are not playing to his strengths.

I guess my takes before we signed him aren't aging as poorly as once thought... It was the same way for a multitude of Dortmund games. Hardly involved but pops up with a goal because of his freakish athleticism. Are we playing to his strengths all the time? Probably not but Dortmund didn't dominate the ball like we do so there were more opportunities to get behind defenses... He needs to improve and meet the team halfway by improving technically.

It seems he's expected to play false 9 and get involved with little toches and passes and affect the game.. In that case should of signed Harry Kane... Haaland is not and will never be a player who plays like that.. So either start playing to his strengths or suffer like we are currently

wingers are needed and a defence, proper chip shop of a mess

Haaland needs feeding with pace, not this fucking slow tika taka sideways and backwards build up?

the opposition defense are always in place by the time our turgid slow build has got into their box -ill with it.

WE NEVER COUNTER - NEVER.

Last season:
18 matches,
44 goals,
35 GD,
44pts

This season:
18 matches,
46 goals,
28 GD,
39pts

For all the excitement and hype all he has done is change the distribution of goals within the team. He hasn't added goals to the team.

And now we are more dependent on one single player rather than having multiple avenues to goal.

Perhaps more importantly he hasn't added points to the team, having a designated striker was supposed to be the difference in those big games where you might only get a couple of chances.

Yeah just scored Jesus and sterling and fodens and mahrez goals

The refusal to play to him is getting silly now. At one point Akanji played a good ball to Walker who had the run of midfield, their centre backs desperately backpedaling with Haarland. Walker slipped to ball sideways to Bernardo who took an awful shot where he didn't set himself properly. Defenders must be so relieved when they see something like that. Far from the only example in the game.

Saw both Mahrez and Bernardo look directly at him making a run and play it backwards instead.

I fear he'll be off by next summer if we don't start fucking using him. pass the fucking ball to him!!??

If he doesn't score or get chances he looks completely useless. That's not his fault either and isn't even a criticism. We knew what kind of player he was and it is up to us to make it work. He is one of the best goalscorers and difference makers in world but he is never going to be good at all around game.

Having 9 outfield players who participate in the build up of the attack is worse than 10 like we had last year, especially against bus defenses. That's just how it is and not the fault of Haaland. We don't create as many chances with him in the team over the course of the season as we did last season, but we sure as hell can score more goals out of the lesser chances we create.

I think Guardiola hasn't yet found a good balance. He wants to have the same control we had last year but to achieve that with one less player taking part in the general play results us in being more pedestrian. To get the most out of Haaland you have to take risks and acknowledge you are going to concede chances and goals due to possession losses, but we'd create more chances too.
