Was never going to get any space against brentfords compact defense. Lovely assist for Phil. Liked us using the channel ball for him, that's a vastly underused option for us imo. Only had one real chance, I'd expect a striker to score that but he did nothing wrong it would have gone into the corner, just a really good save from the keeper, perhaps he could have put more on it if we're being super critical.

His presence opens up space elsewhere, that alone makes him being on the pitch invaluable and left phil free to roam off him.

Was all about fitness for him, 85 minutes was more than I thought he would get. Needs one and they'll come flooding again, hopefully it comes this weekend before the waiting media start with their usual "he's not scored in 2 whole games"
So glad he got good game time. But I guess unless he scores a hat trick every time he plays then he's just not up to it. Some fans are just fickle and need to get a grip. What a player we have and I can't wait for the next few games so he can show us what he's all about AGAIN.

Glad someone else can see that, he wasn't great tonight, but he does create space for others too.
Agree. Without him occupying two CBs and being a constant menace, there wouldn’t be space for Foden or Debruyne to make runs into the box with their low block setup.

If him being poor on FPL stats helps City win games, I’ll take that every day and twice on weekends.

Good layoff to Foden for the third. Should've converted the 1v1 to equalize, but tbf their keeper was putting in an incredible performance on the day.

Overall, pretty meh performance. No worries as he will rev it up again and our beast will be back.

Just glad he’s back the doubters which I don’t get need to give the boy time great player

I bet he’s bored to fuck on the pitch, Gvardiol had a few chances to cross in and didn’t, he made runs in between full back and centre half still not found, I know he scored loads last year but I think he suits a more counter attacking team than ours. I get he drags people out of position but I just think we look more fluid when he’s not in the team. When most teams just sit back against us the opportunity to cross in should be utilised more.

He’s clearly missing too many chances this season. This was discussed a lot prior to his injury.

Will obviously give him time to get up to speed, and he’s bound to be rusty after such a long time out, which is fine. He had to be scoring that chance last night, but it didn’t matter in the end, and he of course had a hand in 1 of the goals.

He has, across the season, not been clinical enough, in my opinion.

I agree, I remember a few seasons ago like everyone else thinking if only we had a striker in there he would’ve got that, yet even before his injury he missed a shed load of relatively easy chances for him, maybe I just expect more but that’s the standards we have set, the thing is if/when he does leave we will be fine with the squad we have.

haha, just remembered , when big erl was coming off the brentford fans were singing"you're just a shit ???????" (didnt catch the name ) he heard it and had a chuckle :)

good to have the big lad back, sadly again i see fucking idiots slagging him off, he made loads of runs tonight either to drag the defenders away of to be put through and was never found
