Playing the ball in to his feet is useless. When Rodri or the centre backs have the ball in the centre circle they should, at least occasionally, put a long ball through for him to run on to.

Yeah, we need to mix the game play up a bit more. I thought a number of times on Sunday "Go on, over the top, he can outrun this lummox!"

The remarkable thing about the Arse plan was that I suspect it will be the only time this season that they try to keep the ball in the air as long as possible. And they will probably not get a whistling wanker so amenable as the smirking pillock we endured yet again.

If I was on the coaching staff, I’d be saying to KDB, Foden, Alvarez, Grealish, Bernardo and Doku, “if you’ve not got 10 assists for Haaland by the end of the season, you’ve failed to do your job as a creative player”.


They’re all going to play 40-50 games this season, it’s 1 assist a month. They probably need to make 1 decent chance per match and they’d get there.


One of the things that’s amazing about football is that it’s simultaneously so complicated and yet so simple. If you have the best finisher in the world, pass the ball to him and he will score.

I thought he did pretty well as a target man at the weekend. It’s not his game, but he’s definitely improving on that side.

I wish he’d chat less with defenders. You could see Gabriel angrily sneering “I detest you“ at one point. If Haaland didn’t give the chatter back and show it didn’t affect his game, they’d soon stop and he can concentrate on bullying them.

Hopefully our creativity returns and he gets decent chances to score in the next few weeks.

But he’s given us loads of big performances. The last few games he’s had his struggles but the over the top criticism is unfair.

I accept you didnt call him shit, I’m probably being over defensive due to him getting pelters from all sides since Sunday. A game he was nowhere near as poor as is being made out bar the chance when the ball that went under his feet.
