In his defense, Txiki did an awful job building around him, which is what you need to do. He's incapable of pressing, and we have no legs in midfield to make up for it. You need a prime Fernandinho/Bernaro, Declan Rice, etc., to make up the ground for him.

I disagree. Every counter press starts from the front, and teams can play around Haaland like he's not there. It doesn't help that Foden isn't a great presser, either, but the real issue is that KDB/Kovacic/Gundo and, to a lesser extent, Bernardo are all slow as molasses and easily bypassed.The midfield hasn't changed though, doesn't matter who starts upfront, the same issues will be there, we'd still continue to lose games
We almost never looked to him to begin with, just kept with the slow sideways rubbish all game, shocked it didn't work.Good header. But needs to be more of a physical presence/nightmare for defenders in general play and not sure when it comes to scoring.
