I am not trying to convince you but if he would do his primary job better(score) he would help us win a lot more than the other parts of his game.

Each player has a specific role within the team. The work ethic is expected to go alongside their primary role and not be an excuse to justify why they are not producing.

Why did city purchase Jesus? The forward is expected to score goals.
Of course it would benefit us if he scored more. Same could be said of any striker, or player.

You keep talking about primary roles. As I've said multiple times what you and I believe to be the primary role of Jesus is different. You can reply saying that the forward is expected to score, and I can reply this again.

I'm going to call time on this aspect on the discussion. It's been enjoyable chatting to you but I don't wish to keep going in circles.

You are full of stats ,i asked for them , he cant live on one or two good games

Every time he does score it is i told you so like the odd goal sorts the problem out and makes up for everything
Only 1 or 2 good games feels a bit of a disingenuous statement. If that was it he would have been shipped off by now, like all the other players Pep lost faith in.

You're not arguing anything, you're just aimlessly whining that Jesus only scores 20 goals a season from about 30 starts.

It's just complaining for the sake of it. There's no end point. None of you actually think he should leave, you all think a new number 1 is coming in, so it's just aimless whining that our number 2 striker is a number 2 striker at 23.

I'm quite clearly arguing with an end point; Jesus is not good enough to be the long term replacement of Aguero.

You keep skirting the underlying numbers of Jesus which are alarmingly worrying. Iheanacho literally had a better goal per minute ratio than Jesus ever has, it doesn't mean he was good enough. You're refusing to explore the key deficiencies in Jesus' game and aimlessly stating his goal return which is more of a byproduct of the team he plays for than individual goalscoring ability.

Fair enough. I respect your opinion that a forward is not purchased for his goals.

Good discussion and I am sure it will rumble on.

Just be clear I meant primarily for his goals, I'm not discounting goals entirely!

But thanks for understanding anyhow.

Werther Jesus is or isn't a long term Kun replacement we still need to be buying a world class young striker/CF this summer as Kun will just not be doing 90 minutes twice a week all season any more even if he stays.

According to the official Premier League stats, he’s missed 2 big chances so far this season.

By way of comparison, Sterling has missed 7, De Bruyne 8, and Vardy and Son have both missed 9.

Does his finishing have to improve? Yes, undoubtedly. But honestly we’ve been very wasteful as a team for a while now, and he’s hardly the worst culprit

Gabby has played two games since injury. In the first, he looked very rusty and in the second, a little better. So, here we have a 23 year old, who is recovering after an injury, who has scored 73 goals and 31 assists for our club. I do not understand the current clamour for a new striker when we have won 9 on the spin and we have such a great young player on our books. I suspect that if he was playing for another club, he would be the one we would be clamouring for.

Or we choose not to play with a recognised striker but, instead, have three attacking midfielders, in every game, who are each capable of banging in 20 a season, backed up by others who can also finish when the chance presents itself. In my opinion, with the packed defences we face each week, we may need to move away from the traditional striker ideal.
