I think it depends who's on the pitch at the time.

Whereas last night it was 3-0 and game over so I doubt Gundogan or Kev were fussed.

He's missed five out of his last nine... He shouldn't be allowed to take one even if we're 10-0 up. He's simply shit at them, I'd be more annoyed at Pep if he lets him take another and misses it.

I don’t disagree, and wouldn’t have him taking them, but wasn’t Mahrez 4/9 then missed a couple more for us, now he’s our first choice.

Mahrez was 4/9 wasn’t he? Then missed a couple for us.
He’s now our first choice.

I’d imagine knowing Pep, they’ll be a reason behind the relaxed attitude towards it. Be it, he felt there was too much pressure on a designated taker, or believes goals or belief in players is worth the risk..

For this penalty in isolation, it was poor, but hardly a result of showboating or arrogance, just shite.

He stopped and passed it to the keeper , you are on your own with this one , the technique is what show offs do

You didn’t watch the game then? Because what actually happened is, he put it low to the keepers right.

Low and in the corner. Crap but hardly showboating..
Never remember people moaning about Balotelli or YaYa applying the same technique.

To be fair to Mahrez he's never lacked conviction from my memory, Jesus has never taken a 'quality' penalty... Again from my memory.

It's always the stutter etc which he's not good enough to do. I do think that kind of run up is arrogant and he's not bagged enough penalties to think it works for him which again begs belief.

Jorginho gets away with his step and a hop bollocks because he scores 9/10 times.

Jesus does it every time and has a less than 50% conversion rate... He should know better.

It is really strange how such a talented footballer can be so bad at taking a shot on goal from just 12 yards away. His penalties aren't bad...they are bloody horrendous haha!!!. But I still love you Gabby.

Wrt goal contributions in all compets, Jesus is second only to Mahrez this season. Scored vs Chelsea and PSG and assisted the 1st goal vs Liverpool. Outstanding lad with over 120 goal involvements for City so far and cost us less than 30m. Hope he signs a new contract: we'll struggle to find a squad player with his work ethic and productivity. Only 24 too.

Gabby is turning into an awesome, first class - OK player. He's OK. That's it.

As such, I rate him as a squad player - but as a regular starter - we need better.

He definitely has good raw stats, and further as you mentioned, has had a hand in some important goals for us not just this season but in prior.

My only frustration with him is efficiency.

Jesus has a decent goal return, but... he should have been doing much better over these years.

His xG for example every year is almost always noticeably greater than his actual output (Meaning he isn't prolific in front of goal). Aguero and Mahrez for example every year always out perform their xG or are around there, Kevin is the same. Which corresponds to the eye test that those 3 are good finishers.

I'd still like him at City, but he has stagnated in his own personal development imo. I can see for his benefit, even if it's to our detriment, him leaving to continue to grow.

This may indicate his potential, given he's only 24. Players mature (as goalscorers) at different rates. Given that his movement is good, he may start to score more goals at some point.

His biggest problem is that the competition for places is cruel and he doesn't start enough games. He would probably look like a much, much better striker at a team like Inter or Dortmund. He may leave in the summer. Much depends on whether he will be involved in the biggest games and goals. He was starting in the big games earlier in the season up to United away and we were good and efficient with him in the team.
