Surprised this isnt being discussed but 900,000 retail jobs are going to be lost by 2025 and that from the retail industry itself blaming the rise in minimum wage and new technology.

Given their honesty and they are being totally honest about the minimum wage and the future living wage, they wont be the only sector to do the exact same thing and rather than pay the wages required, they will sooner just get rid of staff.

No easy answer to what is going to be a huge issue facing this country and its population going forwards.

Were do the projected figures come from?
If the staff are getting more wages then they will be spending more.
Put the money in the pockets of staff, not the offshore accounts of the shareholders

Always gonna happen. If you work in a shop then your job is increasingly at risk every time someone logs on to Asos/Amazon and the like.

People want cheaper shit, why pay someone to scratch their arse all day.

Mmmmmmmmm........big business says minimum wage will cause job losses......mmmmmmmmm........OK, I think I can some low flying bullshit.

If those 90000 people stopped buying things on the internet they might save their own jobs!

It's life, I'm afraid, but they have 10yrs to sort something else out.

So shop workers just "scratch their arse all day" and so it's ok if they lose their jobs in the hundreds of thousands?
I know it's hard for you but do try to be a bit less of a massive self-important wanker could you?
