A big "well done" to the Met

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...e-new-moped-ramming-tactics-face-prosecution/

It's started already, this action could lead to police being prosecuted.
It's now rapidly becoming a society where the victims are ignored and the thieving, slashing, maiming, murdering
low life that infest us get the attention and protections not afforded to the victims. I fail to see why anyone would now
want to join the police, or indeed the forces, when you can be hounded and do time for offing a terrorist that has recently
been nailing your mates body parts to trees.
So, the reduction in moped crime we've seen will now escalate once more, and if I were a copper now, I'd just let the fuckers
get on with it, if you're not going to be supported by the authorities for carrying out your job, just because some thieving twat
may have broken his neck evading arrest, then the job is pointless. Which is a terrible state of affairs, but we seem
obsessed with protecting villains at all costs,so apathy and disillusionment amongst officers will only grow.

I'd suspect that - for want of a better phrase - the approved tactics will have rules of engagement and if the cop doesn't follow them or seems not to follow them there could be consequences. Obviously armed Police have strict rules that will be forced into them so they know but earlyish days into a new tactic? Police pursuit drivers have to be trained to a higher standard - what if this was some "beat bobby" exceeding his training / authority level? Wouldn't this sort of thing also be referred to the IPCC ?
