We had unearther a gem for 200k and as soon as anything above a million was on the table he was going to get sold.........


Spurs just "blew us art of the warter".

Also a little later on i thought Flitcroft going was the sign of how badly the club was being run at the time.
 
I was devastated when Mark Kennedy got sold after we got relegated. My dad broke the news that he would probably get sold while we were walking back to the car, as a left footer he was my idol! (We got Ali Benarbia the next season though who quickly became my favourite player).
 
Francis Lee and Mike Summerbee.I remember Helen bell going around with a petition to keep them but they were still sold.Mike was a bit injury prone then but Franny had a couple of good years with Derby,including THAT goal against us in 1974.....''Just LOOK at his face!!!''

SWP.....I realised then at that time unless we got a rich owner[thank the Lord!] we were finished as a major footballing power.The game the news broke was Macclesfield away in a pre season friendly.
