Tin hat time. But as much as I loved the old badge the club have spent so much time and effort these last few years trying to get City known across the globe I sincerely doubt they are going to change the badge now for the sake of a few tradition lovers.
I agree with this totally

I disagree. I see where you're coming from but I think that in ADUG's eyes the CFG is even bigger thing than MCFC - and as a result our badge will be changed so that it's similar to other CFC badges.

Gav, do you have a pic of that^ badge in this style of image?:

Or possibly, if you can, the three disc badges in a row like this:
cfg-160x160.jpg

(not with the sides cut off, don't know why it's like that)

Sorry to be cheeky!

Looking at those 3 together it stands out that the other CFG ones have sky blue behind the lettering... It's the border rings that change.

So, I'd switch the colours on that of of Gav's to navy letters on sky blue with white borders. But the only gold I'd have on it would be the ship (like on the old badge at number 3 in Gav's designs and the current badge!)

and then have the white rivers on sky blue shield.

FTR of the one's done so far I'd vote 2, 4 or 5. But the above might just make my mind up.

Pretty please

-)

2 or 5 simples.

For me a crest must have:
The rose of Lancashire
The three rivers reference.
The ship for the canal reference.
MCFC or Manchester City Football Club

I'd happily lose:
Three stars (we're not a hotel)
The Manchester Eagle (whilst an old Manc reference), it just looks tacky.

I'd like to see:
A bee of industry slotted in there.

The Lancashire Rose is completely outdated as far as Manchester goes. For all intents and purposes Manchester isn't even Lancashire anyone like it once was. The only reason to have the rose on would be because we had it on an older badge that people liked. It's representation is now not required as it would only represent something which was now out of date.

Good at the time, but not now.

Completely agree.

Today's Manchester is about as Lancastrian as it is the old Cheshire which the whole area was before Lancashire ever existed, or Westerna, or Elmet, or Brigantia before that respectively.
ie. it isn't Lancastrian at all anymore, like it isn't any of those historical areas that Manchester used to lie in neither.

I'd also like to point out that we've never had #6 as our badge.

Ours is this one:

(See no wavey shite coming off some knights helmet).

#6 is United's version of the CoA.

number 5 for me, class
I like that too.

The maroon and gold shield is set nicely on the sky blue kit. And I love a disc badge.

Looks cracking!

Lancashire was a made up county at one point. There were probably many people at the time saying "Manchester will always be in Cheshire as far as I am concerned. bollocks to made up counties".

We don't have that Lancastrian Yonner accent anymore, we aren't governed by any Lancastrian MPs, the main Lancastrian towns and boundaries feel well away from us and not part of or area.

Plus the red rose belonged to a family in Lancaster a place Manchester has nowt to do with.

Thanks for the history lesson. I was born and bred in Bolton, Lancashire and Manchester was part of that county. therefore I'm Lancastrian first and foremost and totally proud of that fact.
