A day out in Glossop

Looking for a bit of info, pubs, walks, places to eat and anything else to do over yonder etc..any blue pubs ?
Hi pal there’s plenty of the above
Firstly pubs there’s the Norfolk Joseph Holts
Your typical weatherspoons at Howard town mill they have plenty of guest ales on ,
The Oakwood which do great food and a selection of lagers that’s a Robinsons house,
Harvey Leonard’s what’s facing the train station absolutely fantastic independent bar they do wines , beers and lagers from all over the world plus the food is nice is good as well, it’s an independent place so is the bar 2 and Glossop tap which is just round the corner , if you venture into old glossop the queens is a nice pub for walkers and good food, there’s a lovely place to eat on the high st called Thyme great food .
The beehive at the top of glossop does absolutely superb English and Thai,
There’s a book shop called high peak books on the high st you can get mini local walking guides from there.
As mentioned there’s literally too many walks to mention, feel free to pm me on the walks or anything else as I do loads of hill walking . Hope you enjoy Glossop it’s a huge blue enclave !!

Cheers..looking forward to some nice fresh air..

There’s a decent travel documentary made about Glossop .
Went under the name The League of Gentleman or something .

Think that was more Hadfield, down the road.

Was in a pub down that way years ago and they were quite proud of it.

They have one of the best curry houses in the north west called Ruchi - won at the national curry awards recently.

I'd start at the Oakwood, Friendship, pop in the Norfolk, then Harvey Leonard's. All nice boozers in the main.

Would second the shout for Cask and Kitchen.

Avoid Spoons though.

Haven't been round there in a year or so but The Distant Hills Brewery taproom is decent, Harvey Leonards for a bit of food and decent beers/wine. The Corner Cupboard pub is the blue pub
The Corner Cupboard is definitely blue but the local supporters club meet at a Robbies pub, the Friendship, on Arundel Street.

The Globe do some really nice microbrewery real ales.

Had food in there a few years ago too which was very nice.
Following up the comment above, note that the Globe is an exclusively vegan pub (food and drink that is). Scran is certainly not haute cuisine but it is cheap and cheerful.
It's also a well established music venue with a separate room upstairs.
