A letter on justice and open debate.

So Finn says "“I have worked in this business for over 40 years and I have not seen one instance of racism."

He's either a liar or he walks around with his eyes and ears shut and that would apply to any area of work in the UK in the last 40 years.

That said, we’ve now reached a point where saying something isn’t racist, either a statement, act or an industry you work in, is deemed as bad as racism itself.

You have to say everything is racist or you’re a racist yourself.

Everyone is assuming he's been punished for saying something isn't racist, when it's probably the fact he was extremely abusive towards other high profile professionals whilst making his point.

I think many are saying the speech doesn’t warrant the consequence.

Really?

Why would anyone choose to work with someone who can't control themselves on social media and refers to colleagues as fucktards?

He has freedom of speech, he used that freedom of speech to show everyone he's a twat, and now he's finding out people don't want to work with twats.

Did he call someone a fucktard?

I did read the article but didn’t see that?

If so, yeah he deserves it.

I read the article and saw the Tweet and it didn’t look like abuse at all but I may have missed something?

He called a fellow TV director a fucktard (whilst also misrepresenting some of his comments) that's quite abusive no?

I don’t believe you, unless he was arrested, charged and found guilty, if only by magistrates, as being arrested isn’t a sign of guilt and he would be able to sue for wrongful dismissal under the treatment of offenders act.

The difference now is your mate would be sacked for thinking of going and doing something wrong,

If nothing else this thread has proved beyond doubt it is the left, reading who the posters are and their responses, that is leading the assault on lawful freedom of expression and introducing totalitarianism of thought. It will bite you on the arse one day.

Orwell could see you all a mile off.

George Orwell was a committed socialist who was a vocal critic of the damage done by British Empire. He hated nationalism and would no doubt have despised the politics of a lot of the people who quote him these days to try and defend their right to express their bigotry without consequence.

By the way I think it's worth noting that his entire point is bullshit, he says "You can't just hire extra crew" but that is exactly what happened according to the people involved.
